thats not bad, but still gotta come up with $200 some odd dollars for the spindle lift, and AAL (Im not a big fan of body lifts). But it just all depends. Im still having trouble picking out rims lol every time I look at FRXLT's truck it makes me want chrome but when I see FX4wannabe, I want black... never thought it could be so confusing lol

...lol I know what you mean man. I wanted black then chrome, then black. But there is a very distinct reason why I wanted these rims because you can add something cool too it! If anyone can guess they get a cookie!!!

Give me your address so I can send you a cookie!! Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal? Haha. Yea I always like those fake bead lock rings and think of putting them on after all these super expensive mods I have been doing.

But I washed my truck due to me going out and kicking around some dirt and since I'm flare less I am considering Bushwacker's Pocket Style Fender Flares. I was thinking of pre runner fenders, bit I don't think it would look right on my truck. I would paint to match the pocket style flares but they stick out way too much. 06+ Ford oem are pretty bad *** looking as well but I would have to drill into my fenders, unless I still have to drill the fenders with the Bushwacker's then I would just go OEM. I'm just kicking around the idea and would like something to protect my sides during the winter.

lol I know you have them Keith and have been contemplating them for a long time! If you still have them after I get this explorer axle in then I'm going to consider it They shouldn't trap water behind them and rust out the fender? Well I guess if Ford puts them on then I guess it won't hurt. I just don't like the idea of rust forming behind them!

I knew exactly what you where thinking lol, cause Ive thought about getting pro comps I think 1079's where you can add a beadlock on them, and I was thinkin of getting black beadlocks.
Unfortunately yeah any of fords fender flares will trap water behind them, if you can come up with a good way to seal them up then you would be set

Hollister is a good place to go, during the winter is the best. Mud pits, open field for donuts, a sea saw, rock opsticles, or trail riding. I know I wouldn't make it out there with my 2wd!

I like the glass fenders, and would only go with a subtle rise and bulge, nothing crazy. But I don't know, just need to focus on getting this axle in and then it's saving for the next year!

I HATE glass with a passion, ruins the lines of a truck IMO.

They do ruin the body lines and can make a truck look bad. But I think if you have a desert runner or pre runner truck then they could be come useful. I think I would be a poser with them on my truck so that's why I'm not going to go with them, plus I would lose my 06 ranger badges! LoL

Hey Trent have you had any problems with water getting trapped behind the fender flare? Are they pretty snug and water tight?

Yep mine are perfect, I've even taken the fronts off and the paint is fine behind them, no rub spots or rust where water has been trapped. Just take your time mesuring and drilling holes and you'll be fine. I'd love to hvae those 06 flares I just can't afford them.

lol I just realized I had 40 posts in this thread.

Hey Phill I think your truck would look sick with some black rims with a chrome lip, sort of like Trigger01 has. But red looks good with anything, chrome or black.

Thanks for the info, if Keith still has his flares by the time I'm done with the axle swap and if funds permit I think I will ****** them up. I was thinking of 06+ 4x4 bumper and paint to match the upper and paint to match the flares. Maybe line-x the lower portion and see if I can fab up the lower fog light holes to hold 2 PIAA 510 Ion crystal fog lights.

What's up with the flares? The guys who have them, hate em. And the guys who don't have them, want em.

Give me your thoughts on why you hate them. I like them when there painted to match like the edges. Tre's truck looks so much better since he painted his bumper and flares. It's not on my top list to do since I am in the process of the 8.8 but it would be nice to get something to protect my sides from all the crap my tires will through during the rainy seasons and what ever else. I'm not too worried of looks I just like the functions more.

Found a great deal on a Camper Shell for a ranger. Color is green and is pretty close to my color but i think the paint is washed out from the flash of the camera. Hes only asking $250 brand is snug top. I have been thinking for the longest time to get one so I have place to lock all of my stuff in it or keep it dry when it rains. All my friends said it would look gay on a 2wd pick up, and they think I'm doing all this to my truck so I can go jump some sand dunes down in the desert, which is not even close to my intent. LoL

screw 'em! if you think you need a camper shell get one! it may even improve your gas mileage due to the decrease in drag... make sure the color matches perfectly though. nothing looks worse (to me) than a truck with a camper shell or tonneau that doesn't match

I know what you mean. I emailed him and see if he still has it. If he does I'll take a trip to santa cruz and see how well the paint looks and if it matches mine pretty well. It's a good price and deal though. Brand new there 1200 and up. I was also thinking of putting a defender series rack on it with a spare tire carrier and their light cage to go with it if i did get a shell top.

06 Mesh Grill Inserts...

Just finished my Mesh grill inserts for my 06+ Ranger grill. $15 for the mesh material at home depot and $10 for the paint. I like the look a lot and I hope it helps to keep the bugs out of my radiator.

Pics.

Before

After: (I know some of the pics with it on the truck you can't tell, i'll get better ones.)
