Weekend Warrior Build
You really shouldnt need to regear with the 4.10s you have in there now. It should be perfect for you. Either way, to answer your question, its difficult enough for me not to try it. You're looking at around $1400 minimum for a gear swap in your truck btw.
Well went on some trails today. Truck did amazing. I really need to fine tune the front suspension now tho. (i.e. extended radius arms/longer shock towers). I now completely understand why everybody raves about having a locker. It is literally night and day. I didnt spin a tire the whole trip.

Some of you know I bought a 4" lift at Carlisle All Ford Nationals a couple weeks ago. Well I just finished up building my custom leaf springs. Ended up with half ranger/half explorer springs (expo main spring) with 6 leaves, all new isolators, plastic friction pads and OEM rubber bushings. Next is a set of custom extended radius arms.
Well, truck's going under the knife again here soon. Leaf springs are done. Front pivot brackets are all cleaned up and Ordered the steel for extending my radius arms. Got 2" square tubing x 0.25" wall for the arms and 1/4" plate for making my mounts. Ordering 2.5" Ballistic joints for the radius arms with thier special 2.375 width for the ranger frame. Cant wait to get this thing back on the trail!!
No constructive critizism here. I just keep checking in all the time on a sweet build.
Thanks Ford_78!
Here's my measurements for my mounts. If anybody wants to copy this, go right ahead. I am using the Ballistic Fab joints for my arms just because of the narrower mounting width (2.375) so if you're going to be usuing Currie Johnny Joints, you will need to make your mount wider.

truck looks great! i love how the roll pan looks on your truck.
where are you finding these 2.375 ballistic joints? all i can find are 2.0, 2.625, and 3.0's
is the width of the bracket 2.5 inside or outside? id try to make it as close to the mounting width of the joint itself. if you make it 2.5 inside then the bolt is going to have to pull the sides in. and 2.5 outside then the joint just wont fit.
cant wait to see more progress

Found them on BallisticFabrications website.
Forged Chromoly 2.63" Ballistic Joint
For the mounts, it's 2.5 INSIDE. I figure that pulling the steel tight to the joint is a lot easier fighting with fitment issiue. If you think about it, that's only a 1/16" on both sides of the joint, which wont matter at all once everything's tightended up.

those are 2 5/8" not 2 3/8". they wont fit in the bracket. your gonna have to make them an 1/8th wider.
i dont know if you have seen these or not but i think im going to run them for my lower link mounts. Artec Industries Lower Link Frame Bracket
