Comunistico´s diesel SAS d44

well... finally getting my truck with a SFA.

im not doing the work, id rather have a guy do it for me. (also my dad "advice" to do so)

so plans so far id like to have the truck with coils, though ive seen his 2 trucks hes sas´ed and both are with leafs, and are BA trucks so whatever he tells me.

got a dana 44 wagoneer i got from a friend with everything minus the calipers and carrier and gears, but ill probably leave it with an open dif. for the time. for 500$

im going tomarrow to talk everything and see if i can get the truck in the shop this year he tells me he takes 2 weeks to do the swap so.. hopefully for new3year ill have a truck, even without 4wd but with the axle under running.. but i doubt it..

here are a few pics of both his trucks (hes already sponsored by maxxis.. if u dont notice btw..)

his first sased truck..

im pretty sure hell make a hell of a job, plus hes charging me pretty nice i belive. around 1000$ for the swap plus the parts of course...

getting pics of the axle in this days hopefully

im probably not going over 35s cause what id like is for the truck to flex alot, and sit as low as possible, also im adding a snorkel and flares. but 1 step at a time.

pics of my truck for the "before" pic

truck was overheating...

Do you have a D44 as a rear axle, too? It's gonna be one awesome truck, man.

yeah hes charging pretty cheap and does a hell of a job. ive seen him running jis truck at the 4x4 challenges and they hold up great.

yeah ive got rear d44.

im sticking with 4.56 gears as i just regeared... so im not waisting my rear gears atleast... and i dont plan on going over 35s .. atleast for now. i just want it to flex decently and with 35s i think ill do ok as i dont want it very tall

also forgot to mention im getting my rear locker next week i hope also. its the e-locker. i didnt want to mess around with the air lines and compresor etc.

ive got 285-75-16s although im keeping this untill i either sell them or need to change them. i want 35s (dont want to regear again) this guy as he is sponsored by maxxis they gave him a set of 4 maxxis creepy crawler 35s on 16s..... and i belive i can get him to sel em for 500$ new. and try and sell my tires...

im going tommarrow to check the d44 and see whats missing with the mechanic.

what we talked today was to get the trucked stripped and then decide which route to go, if springs or leafs ( no coilovers..) .

remember my trucks not gona bee rock crawling what we have here is trails, mud, muddy trails, and pongs called "roads". so the main idea of the sas is to make the truck "bullet proof" .. i know 1 ton axles.. but im not going over 35s with this truck, prolly most 36 as i do not plan on regearing again....

Awesome man!!! Can't wait to see a 4-door SAS'd!! Plus it looks like you're actually gonna use it...heck ya!
and hell yeah im gona use the truck for what its built for! thats why everything on the ifs right now is borken, changed or craked just to the point of busting!

axle is in the shop already. gotta go find the calipers that might be around 100$ for both of them

a friend got a steering box out of a chevy originaly moving a dana 60 so if we can fit it well use that one ( "free" ), or go look for a yotas steering box that i can get for around.. 140$...

really thinking bout leafs, for toughness mainly as truck gona do some serious trails and heavy mud so i dont need "that much" articulation

theres a guy near here that ppl say hes got the carrier and 4.56 gears for the dana 44 that i might be able to get for 200$ so gotta go check what conditions it is.

im redrilling rear axle for 6 lug pattern and my wheels im talking to another friend that sells used wheels to find me some nice 16x8 black wheels and trade em im.

in the night ill upload a pic of the axle (gotta paint it.. its orange right now.......)

was checking another local 4x4 forum and found a video they edited of a trip they made to "Boca San Carlos" in costa rica thats gona be my gol trip to make after the sas.

i already knew it was a great 1 unique trip, but after this video i NEED to go there!

http://gringo-loco.smugmug.com/Movie...122_5rkDD-L-LB

this is why im probably going with leafs up front. much stronger components for the type of wheeling i want to do with my truck
