ya i wonder why your really ditching haha
|
do you really want to know?
your gf is coming over to drop something off... just kidding :biggthump |
haha you wish
|
goodjob you make my question a page behind...
to reiterate.. anyone know what size bolts ill need to replace the rivets i remove from the hanger? |
no whining :biggthump
|
johnbaum..anyone else thats lowered.. any ideas on those hanger bolt sizes?
had to go search trs and i found it http://www.therangerstation.com/Maga...%2005/tech.htm 3/8 x 1 inch.. those are short bolts no? i figured they would be longer |
should be a sticky on rps for it
|
RPS has been down for a long time
3/8 grade 8 bolts is what i used |
I'd have to go out and remove one to check, but 3/8"X1" sounds about right. You only have to go through 2 pieces of metal about 1/4" and 3/16" thick, so 1" should have plenty left for the nut to fully engage.
|
nice, now you really can't do any off-roading. Looks pretty good for costing like what, $2? and frame all clean is sweet too. pressure washer? Looks like rear needs to drop another inch or 2 tho.
|
yea i know i cant go offroading so it looks like im gonna be going to that barstow trip in somebody elses truck
na it was more like 50 10 - cutoff wheels 10 - bolts 6- 1 1/8 huge ass socket 24.99 - wrench to go with huge ass socket... keith had to spot me 3 bux lol the rear doesnt need to be dropped at all actually its perfect.. |
oh, well for me it would have been almost free, I already have all those tools and material. Just looks so unlevel, you could just put some weight in the back? ooks like you are about to drive into the asphalt ahead of you. need an alignment now too huh, looks like front is bowing in

holy rake, looks like you got more than 2 inches of drop up front
back needs to go lower |
yeah, everything went pretty well, considering that neither of us really knew what we were doing to begin with. 10 hours isnt too bad, especially since i didnt have all the tools and we had to make a couple runs to the hardware store
I think those directions posted on RPS tell you to cut too much coil, thats why its not sitting level. I think Alan just needs to save up and buy new drop coils anyway... that would solve the rake problem. |
screw drop coils, dream beams are the way to go
|
lol you wanna buy me drop beams?
thought not. |
after getting this done, I have researched it a little. If the front end lowers more than 2", you HAVE to have new I beams in order to get the correct camber and caster. As it is right now, I dont think the alignment is going to fix you camber issues... it simply wont adjust any more. Thats why I say you better get some drop coils at least so it will align properly as well as sit more level to the rear.
Alan, did you even get it aligned yet??? |
check your pm's

Shoulda done the rear first.
Just getting rid of the rake makes trucks look soo much better. Wether its lifting the front or dropping the rear. The truck has potential. |
