2 inch drop

you guys may or may not have seen the awesome chop casper did for me, he lowered it a bunch and removed the stripes and leveled it out.
and after i saw it it grew on me .. ALOT

i want to lower it the cheap way since i dont have access to a fat wad of cash lol

the front is already handled all i have to do is trim my coils about 1 to 1 1/2 coils

but the real question is how do i drop the back end.
i only want to drop it 2 inches wich is what ive been told flipping the hanger will allow me to do.

how do i flip said hanger?

Alon 05-18-2009 03:14 AM

grind off the rivet heads, hammer the rivets out once the heads are ground off.

Flip them over, bolt it back together using grade 8 bolts.

do i have to remove my bed to do it?

SVT01RANGER 05-18-2009 03:45 AM

yes, it helps alot if you remove the bed

Smakes 05-18-2009 04:08 AM

thanks. i wonder when i can get this done

08XLT4x4 05-18-2009 04:48 AM

Im in Upland quite a bit, i can help you do this if you want

Smakes 05-18-2009 07:50 AM

thats a nice offer.. i dont have a floor jack tho lol

darkstar_420 05-18-2009 09:37 AM

ive done 2 4/5 drops now and i love em, i hear everyone on here thats lowered say if you only go 2/3 your gonna regret it....

Mark98xlt 05-18-2009 08:19 PM

that photoshop looks more like a 3-4 inch drop around than a simple 2 inch drop.

just save your money, do the 2 inch drop now but in the end it still looks stock

The_Punisher 05-18-2009 08:23 PM

how much does a 4/5 drop kit cost?

yellow_edge 05-18-2009 08:29 PM

you are confused. you really want a 2" LIFT.

I got the tools you will need to do this. No air tools, but I did my superlift without so...

Smakes 05-19-2009 12:26 PM

that would be sick. is it doable in the street infront of my house LOL

FX2.3 05-19-2009 01:35 PM

smorrison1 and I lowered my truck in the street infront of his house, so yes it is doable!

Smakes 05-19-2009 07:23 PM

so 08xlt4x4.. what do you think the timeframe on lowering it will be? all day project?

Mark98xlt 05-19-2009 08:24 PM

depends if you have touched suspension before or not, not something you should rush right through just to get it done even though its rather simple for the minor minor minor drop your doing.

just dont heat those coils up to much while cutting them or cut to much off.

Smakes 05-19-2009 09:44 PM

from what ive read and been told, one and a half coils is all i should cut off

Smakes 05-20-2009 12:02 AM

woooo hoooo i get new brakes and an allignment on thursday!!!

08xlt4x4... i think the drop needs to be done soon!

Mark98xlt 05-20-2009 07:41 AM

i wouldnt get an alignment until the after you do the drop.

common sense

Smakes 05-20-2009 07:42 AM

hence why i said it needs to be done soon lol
after that little **** in the honda hit me my wheels camber is phucked up. pulls to the right like you wouldnt believe

Mark98xlt 05-20-2009 07:44 AM

save your money and order a djm 3/5

Smakes 05-20-2009 07:49 AM

its not going to cost me anything but new grade 8 bolts and nuts, not much money to save their

Mark98xlt 05-20-2009 07:51 AM

but in the end its only 2 inch drop
