yea thats kind of why i did cutcoils instead of lowering coils, i couldnt find any and i didnt have the 150 for them if i found em
since my truck is still raked with a 2/2, going 5/5 wouldnt level it at all would it? id have to go 5/7 right?

Johnbaum13 06-29-2009 09:55 PM

5/6 might get you close to level. With my 4/5, the rear fender is 1/2" higher than the front. Of course, if 5/7 takes you past level, you could always cut another 1/4 or 1/2 coil out to level it up.

Smakes 06-29-2009 09:56 PM

how would i go 6 in the back when a flipkit is 5 and hanger flip is 2?
pull a leaf out?

Johnbaum13 06-29-2009 09:58 PM

maybe. Longer shackle maybe. Still, if you're trying to get low, why not just take the front to 5.5?

Smakes 06-29-2009 10:10 PM

5.5 = beams and half of another coil trimmed off?

then you wont be able to align it if you go that far i believe

I was alignable but then again I have a different suspension.

also my 5/7 sat level

longer shackle will lift, not lower he would want shorter shackles to drop more which they dont make, only the djm lifting shackles aka chevy shackles which lift 2 inches.

i thought with beams that would cure the alignment issues that using drop coils and no cams creates?
and since i have those adjustable cams i can align it anyway it needs to go, well upto 4.5 in any direction

just remember when you get up to that amount of drop no matter what type of suspension out of a drop coil your pushing it getting it aligned. I know mine was a pain to get aligned even with adjustable eccentrics.

Smakes 06-29-2009 10:36 PM

hrm, then maybe ill go 3/5 with beams/flipkit and just get some more stock coils and unflip my hangers, ive had enough of allignment problems

korey89 06-29-2009 10:39 PM

bag it puss

Smakes 06-29-2009 10:43 PM

might as well keep it 5/5 unless you like the ass dragging look youll have with a flipkit out back

with 5/5 will i need those shims for my driveshaft?

and wouldnt 5/7 have the same ass draggin look as 3/5 just lower?

Johnbaum13 06-29-2009 10:53 PM

lol.

And I meant a longer shackle to lift him back up a bit from the 7" drop of the flip and hanger. I.e., no ass draggin with 5" up front.

Flip kits for our generation are 4". Then flipped shackles are 2". That equals 6".

Smakes 06-30-2009 11:24 AM

the flipkit for our gen is 4 inches yes, but an extended cab makes it 5 with the extra weight i do believe

Its also higher stock than a regular cab. My friend's uncle's Ranger was higher than mine in the rear stock.

wrong, its the axle you have, 7.5 gets around 4-4.5 depending on how worn and sagging your leafs are, and 8.8s get 5.

one other thing you have to worry about is pinion angle, if you want it that low, just do the flip, adn get a 2" block

Why get a block? BLOCKS ARE BAAAAD! He already has the shackle flip.

pinion angle would be the same either way whether he has blocks or flipped hangers. still 7 inches of drop either way..
