Question on Air Bag Lifts

I know you can lift trucks via air bags, but how exactly does it work? Is it plug and play pretty much? Slap em on with the compressers and the controls, air the bags up and then pretty much have a $500 6" suspension lift? Or do you need different shocks to go up with the bags? I really just wanna know how they work when your lifting, not dropping????

You wouldn't want to ride aired up for long, your ball joints will be maxed out if it's a IFS.
A TTB would be screwed up with camber. Air ride is more than just plug and play in most situations. I have air ride on my car and it took a week to install and get everything plumbed right.

Air bags are sold for the rears of trucks as a load helper, they're better than add a leafs since they don't compromise the ride quality on an empty bed.

But you can buy them for the front and the back right? I saw a video on YouTube and it just looks like he straight airs the bags up and can ride higher. I dont mind the time and the work, I've got a pretty reliable mechanic and I have a motorcycle so I dont need the truck persay.

In theory though, my idea would work eh? But like you said just don't ride for a long time with them aired. Do the give you a lift just sitting there? Like 4" or so?

lol it wouldn't work unless you were to four link the rear, like that truck has front and rear. You would have to get rid of the leaf springs, which are what currently located the axle. Air bag lifts are stupid anyway, since most people want to ride around lifted the most the full time anyway. Full lift = high psi = rides crappier anyways.
