question for those with chevy springs
question for those with chevy springs
just a quick question about ride height. right now i have the superlift block in the back and thats it. oh and i have the chevy drop shackle along with an AAL. when i do the swap, will i be able to run without a block and still be at the same height? or will it sit a tad bit lower?
also, what ubolts are yall runnin? ill prolly just get some made here in town but i wanted to see what yall were usin..
thanks in advance

I am using 5/8" Ubolts I think, maybe 3/4
as for the springs, on a stock truck you can remove the 2.5" blocks and install the 88-98 chevy 2wd 1/2 ton springs and it will sit exactly the same as it did with the 2.5" blocks.
Id suspect it would be .5" lower.
You could do like I did and move the mounts on the frame down and gain even more lift if you needed it. I gained 2"

yea i like that idea. any pics?
that superlift block is roughly 4". so if i take that block out and only run the 63s with my aal weaved in its not gonna be anywhere near as high right?

I will probably have to take some new pics because I am not sure where the originals are.
I just moved the back mounts down, so the top holes are now in the bottom ones. Then I made a piece at the bottom of the frame for the new holes.
Then the front I just drilled all new holes at the same distance down. I think I got somewhere around 1.75" - 2" of lift from it.
Ill try to get some pics tonight.

so the chevy springs lift a ranger roughly 2.5"
So if you remove the 4" superlift block, which is if i remember correctly really is 3" someone correct me if i am wrong. Then you really only need .5 of lift or at most 1.5" of lift if it really is a 4" block
I had the stock block, BEL-6400 shackles, chevy springs in the rear. It sat good. Pics, yeah Ill have to do some diggin
no i dont have the stock block in. i had it in but i put in the aal and the chevy shackle and took that out. sits perfect right now. once i do the 63" swap im not sure what ill do if it sags
oh so you had the stock block AND the 63s back there?.....that makes sense now. cuz i was wondering how you managed to keep it level
