Website: Silver Sands Resort - Silver Lake Michigan

Rates:

Single room: from $59
Double room: from 75

8446 W Hazel Rd

State Park Entry
An annual pass to all Michigan State Parks is $24; a daily pass is $6. Non resident are $29.00 per year and $8.00 per day. Senior annual passes for $6.00. An ORV pass for vehicles (also required for access) costs $16.25 and is good for a full year. Non-residents will also need a "Sportsmans Pass" which is $1 and is good for life. The ORV pass can be purchased with CASH only. The ORV pass and Flags are available at any gas station in town.

State park permits must be purchased at the park. I would suggest cash because if there is no one at the gate you must purchase one from a ranger that is roaming the park.

Orange Flags are $20 and MUST be mounted on the front of the truck. Mounts are available for under $20 from the same places that sell the flags.

Go-Cart ridding so bring some extra cash to waste! LOL

You are responsible for your own camp site.

Responsible for your own FOOD!!!!!

You need a flag, orv sticker, and state park pass to get into the dunes.... ORV sticker and State park can be bought at the Dunes.

Hey Justin, I got a pamphlet in the mail from Mr. Yogi Bear himself last week, and he said that they now have some small cabins and rooms for rent at the camp ground. The rates were good, i'm just not positive they will be open by that weekend. Might want to check it out instead of a hotel?

I will be attending this one. I just put in my time off for this, June 1st -14th!!!! I will be at the dunes from May 31st to the 7th or 8th.

The campground does have a stay 3 nights get the 4th night free deal. I am bringing my camper out again this year. I have 1 or 2 spare beds if any one wants a place to sleep and is willing to split the cost of the site. I hope to be there for 8 nights if it all works out.

Here is all the Campground/Hotel/Dunes info (you might want to put this in the first post) These are the details from last year, I have updated the camping and hotel info, the state park rates may have changed.

Haha, I'm at USAF tech school right now until April 7th, but then I go on "Active Duty" orders until June 7th but I won't be working that Fri, Sat, Sun if it's not a drill weekend. I sure hope it isn't but it's usually supposed to be the first weekend of the month for my base.

thanks, so i was doing the math and it looks like almost $100 for ORV, park pass, flag, pole and non-resident fees. is this right? but some of those are one time fees like the flag/pole and that fee for life right?

The ORV and state park permit are yearly fees. The flag can be reused until it wears out.

you can also just buy day park permits for $6 if you dont want to spend $20 or whatever it is for the yearly.
