Shutter and dies only in drive and reverse?

Everything was great and then I put on a spindle 4 inch lift.

Immediately after; the truck will start up great, it will rev up and run in neutral great, when you shift into drive or reverse it’s fine and it’s great, if you press the accelerator well in drive or reverse it will shutter and die.

I ordered a TCS sensor today I’m hoping that’s it. Other than that I’m at a total loss?

The mechanic and the parts store people all think it’s the fuel pump. I highly doubt that as it revs up fine in neutral.

thank you for your help.

No, doesn't read like a fuel delivery issue

And you lifted the front and rear 4"

That shouldn't cause binding in rear drive shaft, can in the front though, that's why 2wd or 4x4 was needed

What about Parking brakes?

Does the truck roll easily in Neutral?

idles and rolls down the road just fine. If I feather the ignition real gently and quickly I can get going a little.

The best I can come up with is a fuel filter issue that under load it’s not able to draw enough fuel.

But it’s a longshot because it will rev fine under neutral.

Here is a link to a video.

if I lightly press the accelerator quickly it will rev up, but it sounds A little strange or strained.

Feather the gas pedal, got it

Well with the rear tires off the ground its not the torque converter locking up when it should unlock

Speedometer seems to be working

I would try two things, one at a time

Unplug the TPS(throttle sensor) and see if it still stalls, you will get a CEL

Unplug the DTR(transmission range) sensor on drivers side of transmission, will get a CEL as well

CEL = check engine light

Sorry, no it wouldn't start with DTR sensor unplugged, no starter motor activation
You would have to unplug it after engine was started but NOT in gear, safety first

DTR tells computer what gear driver has selected

It is an odd situation, can't think of anything related to the lift and the stalling, crash sensor maybe in the front bumper area but that should have set off a warning light
That can stall the engine in gear, but feathering the gas pedal shouldn't keep it running

TPS unplugged should get P0122

P0113 is odd man out, its part of MAF sensor in 2011

Code list here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...II_codes.shtml

I saw the traction control light come on just before the engine died.

Turn off the traction control and see if it still acts up.

With the truck up in the air and the wheels spinning freely may be your problem, it may not happen with truck on the ground and driving down the road.

Also, why do they call it "Traction Control" ? when what it really is sensor that cuts power when it detects wheel spin .

thanks, but the issue occurs when it’s off the jack as well.

Good call Supercab

When you did the lift did all ABS sensors get hooked back up?

I've heard that was a problem lifting the 2010 and 11 Rangers.

I wonder if Ford can re-calibrate the sensors ?
Stability control sensors — located inside of the Restraints Control Module (RCM) and consist of the following sensors: yaw rate, roll rate, lateral accelerometer and longitudinal accelerometer.

The module is located under the front center console mounted to the floor.
