Engine swap

Engine swap
I have a 2003 with the 3.0l and auto trans and I also have a 2000 with a 4 cylinder. The 4 cylinder has body damage but good motor and trans and the v6 has high mileage and needs major work wanting to know if it's possible to do engine swap and put the 4 cylinder in the good body truck. Both trucks are extended can 2wd and I intend to take motor and trans out as a pair. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, it is possible but maybe not practical.
Computer and wiring will also need to be swapped over and there will be some interface wiring that needs to be done.
So same as a V8 swap, which would actually be a better swap, even with "free" 4cyl/trans
I would sell the good 4cyl engine and trans, whole truck if needed, and use that money for a used 3.0l Vulcan engine or rebuild of your current 3.0l Vulcan
3.0l vulcan was popular engine, in Rangers and the Mazda B3000
Plug and play
You could literally use any 1986 to 2008 3.0l vulcan engine, although best bet would be 1999-2003, or 2007/8, 2004-2006 had valve seat issues, requiring head swap
Also check Oklahoma laws, in some areas you must file for a Damaged/Rebuilt Title if you change engine size, this is because VIN has engine size as 8th digit, and it no longer matches vehicle.
If there is emissions testing then you can't use an older engine, of any size, than the year of the vehicle.
