Did you go back with the complete factory air intake setup? Tried a new IAC? Got full coverage?....so you can burn it!

alright good news..kinda.. loping problem still exists but no where near as bad!! pulled code and it was ONLY the speed sensor!! so looks like my running rich has been fixed. Still having start issues. not wanting to stay on keeps stalling out unless it warms up and corrects itself first... so freakin wierd.

Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge yet? I was having a similar start issue when i had a bad connection bleeding off fuel pressure.

well im guessing a bad IAC would throw a code. and ive checked fuel pressure numerous times. but it wouldnt hurt to check it again. I dont think its the IAC, Ive unplugged it before witht the engine running and it immediately shuts off. and i dont think its the fuel pressure because after it sits a long time (overnight or close) it starts up no with no feathering

Bad iac wouldnt neccesarily throw a code. My 4.0 ran like doo doo and i cleaned it and it ran amazing. Never threw a single code. I used elctronic cleaner i think. like MAFS cleaner. Try it and see what happens. :)

might as well test it and clean it. I drove to work today, about 33 miles and my gas gauge didnt drop like crazy like normally so I do beleive that I have solved the running rich problem!!!!

Sweetness!!! Thats great news. So you said it only runs bad when cold? That could be bad/dirty iac but that would happen all the time i think. Not just when cold. Being that it only does it when cold it really makes want to agree with everyone else with fuel. But do the cheapest things first. Clean the iac and then go from there.

bad iac or unplugged one does not throw a code. They also dont do anything once the engine is warm. they are mainly used when the engine is cold. However I did find out without one after a WOT run, it likes to idle up to like 2k wildly.

Then its def not the IAC. engine starts up everymorning perfect. Havent checked to see if i have any more codes but I will tmw. got the day off. i am however getting much better gas mileage. still loping at a stopsign/ redlight some times. other times hold idle perfect around a grand. still stalls everyonce in a while. i know thise sounds wierd but when its put in reverse that is when it stalls the most. I have no idea whats going on with it lol

I'm not one to argue over mechanics b/c unless i'm working on it person i really can't say whats going on. But i will tell you that what you have is exact symptoms of a bad/dirty IAC. That doesn't mean that is the problem but that would be the first that i would check if it was my ride. Sorry for all the confusion. Now it's up to you to what you wanna do.

idle air controller works when warm or cold. ive never heard it change on temps.

it does only work in certain gears, like drive, reverse, etc. i think in park and neutral is does other things to idle

The IAC is the coarse adjuster for idle RPM in all gears and at all temperatures.

i just meant that after the engine is warmed up some, it will idle fine with out it. but on a cold start it will die without some throttle.

SOO wierdest thing happened today. I took off the IAC and cleane it out. was pretty dirrty. Didnt really seem to do much at all. drove about 1/4 mile to the autozone to check codes. Low and behold ALL of my codes came back after i chagned the TPS. 1121 1132 and 1152. so i erase the codes and go run some errands. runs like ABSOLUTE crap.well it drives great idles so bad. i mean dropping from like 350rpm to jumpin to almost 2300. Stalls so many times i can even remeber. drove about 12-15 miles or so and at idle it was terrible! i came to about 3 o 4 times and just coming to a stop i stalled. get to Mals rink to say hi and how pissed i am about my truck etc. Leave there. first stop sign i get to its PERFECT. idles at 1k. no loping, surging, nothing!! drive it all around stopped started etc and every redlight etc it idled perfect! still having the starting problem. it turns over and stalls out. gonna go back and recheck for codes tmw. what a crazy freakin roller coast this is

I have nothing else to say about it. lol
I would have taken it to a mechanic by now, but i also know a bunch of them so i probably wouldn'y pay a dime for them to tell me what is wrong.

Maybe you have a chaffed wire or something? Bad MAF?

im wondering about the wiring now, if you have a loose wire or rubbing wire somewhere and it is occasionally contacting grounds the ecm could be getting bad or broken signals from the sensors causing many issues
