its getting there!


have you heard anything about a CTS-V with a built LS6 running around this part of town?

 

I saw one with a 70 year old man driving it a while back down 290, and it really surprised the heck out of me. It wounded amazing, but I don't know if it was stock or built.

 

lol. this guy wasn't 70, he was probably about your age.

 

Got the bed back from Line-x today, it looks sharp. Also started on the cage.







Also cut out the old seat mounts, to get the new Kirkey racing seats in.

 

Looking good. What do the switches control?

 

Main power, start switch, fuel pump, fans, nitrous and whatever else I need. None of them are wired yet.

are you building the cage to mount the seats on it? you are going to want a good rear tilt on the seats.

 

They will be mounted to the cage at the top on an adjustable mount:

and at the bottom on these adjustable mounts, bolted to 2x2 steel welded to the frame.

 

cool, thats kinda what i was thinkin you were gonna do. good thing its just a drag truck, that seat being bolted straight to the frame is gonna rattle ur giggle berries

 

Luckily I am starting off half way there. LOL

 

you dont realize how high the dash is from the floor in a ranger until you start making custom seat brackets... i was going to bring mine up about 4" from the floor until i realized i was going to be looking straight into the dash... so here was my solution: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...=55141&page=15

 

Haha, that's the best thing I've heard all week.

 

Yeah, unfortunately, mine is going to be a bit low from the fact that the top of the seat almost touches the roof with a 2" block. Its gonna be interesting driving. I set it in there, and it was not too bad. I'll be low ridin. LOL

Had to add almost 130 grams at the point where the slug is. Unfortunately it had to go where that slug is already, soooooo, the timing gear came off, slug went in exactly where the whole in the gear is under that other slug. The front was 130 grams off and the rear 126 from the factory. it is now .2 off in the front and less than .1 in the rear.

 

Nice! thats alot of weight to be off from the factory. Oughta be nice and smooth now.

Went to the shop today, and here is the short block, minus 2 holes. Broke the rings putting them in. .

 

truck looks badass. looks nice and clean with the bedliner
