HELP!! 2001 Ranger, can’t get slave cylinder hose in
I just got the new slave cylinder from Luk, put everything back together and now I’m stuck with just the hose not connection with the quick connect fitting. I tried pushing it in and I can feel the valve pushing back but the hose doesn’t click. The hose does still click back into the old slave cylinder no problem, just not the new one. Do I need to replace the hose or do anything with the fitting? (Note: it’s not the c-clamp style, it just pushes in and clicks.)

Always open the bleeder when installing manual transmission, AND when hooking up the hose
Once hose is hooked up wait for fluid to flow out of the bleeder, with NO air bubbles then tighten bleeder, called gravity bleeding, with clutch pedal up fluid is free to flow downhill from master to slave, the end of the hose has a valve inside to prevent this when its disconnected, once connected valve is open and fluid will flow downhill(gravity)
Top up reservoir, and you are done
There are two different styles of connectors, but change was back in 1991/2 so shouldn't be the issue in a 2001

update: didn’t work so I guess I’m gonna buy a new line and see if that plugs in correctly, otherwise I guess I’m going to have to pull everything back out and replace the slave cylinder again.

Does the hose end plastic ring slide in and out?
The one used to "release" it in the video
If not that could be the issue, i.e. it needs to be "back" all the way so clips can grab the fitting
When sliding the fitting in grab the hose only so you don't push that ring forward

Edit: I ordered a new Oem slave cylinder from work to eliminate any possibility of the hose not fitting. So I’ll be pulling the trans tomorrow and hopefully getting it back together tonight. I’ll put a second edit to this tomorrow with an update.
