Honestly - on a personal side.. I wouldnt even bother SC'ing this engine - your far better off pushing for 300 HP with straight engine.. a.k.a - V8 Swap - You coudl do it for far cheaper, hell.. for 4500 bucks you could run a built Explorer 5.0 in your truck and it woudl push way more power then a wimpy SC'ed 4.0

thats true, but thats a lot of fab work i dont wanna do. i can install the supercharger in a day or weekend. but the motor will take far longer. and thats longer then i can afford to have the truck down. i could drive the grand prix. but i need to get it smogged and renew the registration. money that would take away from whatever i end up doing. maybe a v8 someday. but for a truck, the supercharger will make me more then happy

Im more afraid of your undercarriage stuff under there.. I've seen the pics of the twisted rods from prior rangers doing this - and your running a lifted truck... oof I dunno, woudl half freak me out down the road when parts start getting worn and somethign blows up - honestly - I think a part will blow up, its just a matter of time whether its 10,000 miles or 50,000 miles :-(

But, if you do end up getting this done.. then kickass.. As much as I woudl grit my teeth if it was my own truck - I still have a big ol soft spot for a supercharged ranger :-D

same can be said for any internal combustion engine

Tyler, what do you think it will cost you to SC your truck? I assume you are buying parts separately instead of a kit to save some $$

The wiring would be a pain too

yeah the wiring is the biggest part

and im not doubting something will break. its only a matter of time. always is with a modded vehicle. when that happens, its an oppurtunity to make it better :)

and woods rider, im guessing around 2500 after all is said in done. but we shall see. thats why im buying parts as i go. supercharger first, to give me some motivation, then saving up the 1600 or w/e for the rp caster kit

then i need to worry about a tune. possibly some maintenece on the blower, and whatever else i might need.

im having second thoughts about the supercharger

found someone willing to trade an LT1 camaro for my grand prix.

very tempting. and very very easy to mod...

Pics of the Camaro? I would say pick up the Camaro and supercharge that.

I'm not a fan of convertibles but I'd rather spend the go fast money on something that has the potential of actually going fast.

exactly. and since my GP is paid off, the car won't cost me anything other then maintenence it might need and registration and all that stuff.

these motors are easy to make faster. cheaper as well. i cant wait

it would make a nice weekend warrior
