That might work ok with a manual tranny and a clutch that has no slippage what so ever, but I highly doubt it will work with a 5 speed auto with a stall converter and lockup. I might be wrong, but there are too many other factors for that to be accurate.

Doesn't lockup mean "locked up" no-slipping? If so than that is the same as a clutch, you just need your final gear ratio. But in a stock automatic yes that forumla is not accurate, there is some losses due to slip but should be with in 5-10% error?
I dunno how fast it will go but I made sure the speed limiter was gone after I put in the program from my Bama Tuner and it was...lol! I guess I got it up to 105 for a really short period of time and that was way faster than I felt comfortable while driving it. I hit a max of maybe 75-80 on the interstate now and no faster. I remember when I was in high school (early/mid 90's) back in my dumber days most cars only had 85mph speedometers and we would see who could wrap them around the farthest...lol! The '87 Escort GT I had at the time would bounce the needle off of the trip odometer reset button sleeve if I got a good run going down hill! Man that poor car saw some hell but it never broke on me.
