Reverse lights not working

Hi guys, well I was at the truck again today out putting on one of those led brake light strips. I got the brake light strip working, and also attached the reverse light led power wire to my black/ pink hot wire of the driver side reverse light in the tail light. I then realized that I’m not getting power to my reverse lights quickly. I checked the bulbs they look fine, so neither the reverse light bulbs nor the reverse light on my led strip is working.
im thinking it can only be the reverse switch as I think the fuse is on the same as my running day lights according to the manual. The daily running lights are working.
is there anything else I should check ? I noticed that the reverse switch is in a pain location upwards of the gear box.

Yes that looks like a trailer or Canopy connector, trailer are usually 4 wire

What year Ranger, 2003?

2003 used fuse #2, 10amp in cab fuse box, and yes it also runs daytime head light module and blower relay

The extra wire before the connector, it looks like a broken wire lug, could be the ground wire... what do the grounds for the tail lights look like ?
Mine was in the middle of the rear harness dn was almost broken off, nor corroded but ready to snap.

where will the taillights be grounded? And will the reverse lights be grounded in a similar location? Yea that harness is strange, I found it originally when I had the box off the truck, it was hidden but not connected to anything. I’ll go looking for the grounds this evening, I’m expecting it will be ground to the chassis somewhere, I’ll just follow the harness back from the reverse bulb going forward

The tailights all share one ground, on the Frame, drivers side rear

And there should be a frame ground at the front from the battery, it can be ground strap at motor mount from engine to frame

But if any of the tailights work then reverse light ground is OK

appreciare the response. Yes taillights work fine, same with turn signals. Reverse lights are getting no power at all any longer. They could have been not working for the past month or two as I only found out recently. Funny you mention a ground on the driver side rear, I seen this ground when painting the frame. For some reason it’s never been connected since I’ve owned the truck. I’d imagine someone may have cut it at one point, maybe a previous owner. The bolt is there and a lug of where a ground should have been. I think I’m gonna try shorting the reverse light switch next

Maybe it was cut because the connector was shorted, check it out !

My ground came out of the harness near the center of the truck... I check it all out when replacing the Bed.
