Transfer case

Hi I’m swapping a 4.0 and transmission out of a 98 into a 94 and I was wondering will the transfer case out of the 94 bolt up to the 98s 5 speed? The t case out of the 98 is cracked and the 94 has the manual selection for 4wd and 98 is electric so I don’t know if there different transfer cases bolt pattern wise or if it’s just an electric switch compared to the manual. In the 94 the t case is good but I want to know if it will bolt up to it. Also the 98 has a bad frame but good drivetrain besides the t case and the 94 is a southern truck.

Welcome to the forum

Yes, it will bolt up to the 1998 transmission
(any year Ranger transfer case will bolt up to any year Ranger 4WD transmission 1983 to 2011)

They are both BW1354 transfer cases, one is electric shift, the other manual shift
Internally they are different because shifter is on the back side of electric shift transfer case
Manual shifter is on the side

Also the front driveshaft connection changed over the years on the BW1354's but you are using your 1994 in a 1994 so no issue there
