There is a Door switch in each door, if this switch is grounded then the SJB(body computer) will activate the Dome light relay turning dome light on, Door Ajar light should also come on
The dimmer wheel can power the dome light directly without SJB
But the dome lights 12volts comes from the Battery Saver Relay either way
And SJB will turn off Battery Saver relay usually after 20min, not 5 min, if key is off, if you leave the key on then dome light should stay on until Battery is dead
These relays are inside SJB and not easily accessible, seen here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec..._project-9.jpg

Does dome light come back on again with key On and then key off, for another 5min?
Also does the Door Ajar Light come on when you open the driver's door, if not then SJB is not getting the grounding signal from that door switch
Try opening passenger door
Unless the SJB gets that ground signal the battery saver relay will stay off so no power for dome light
I have only seen 20-40min time delay for battery saver relay myself

Ok. I found that it had a 922 bulb. No good. Should be 912. Too many amps . So i picked up the Sylvania 912 st silverstar.
It wouldn’t come on at first. I tapped and rocked on the relays. It came on. Now so far it is working. I timed it with my iphone stop watch. It stayed on past 10 minutes and i just cancelled the test. Probably would have gone another 10.

C2280's are the 4 Larger connectors on the SJB, they are C2280 A, B, C and D
14 is the pin number on connector C2280B
C2280 designations seen here: https://www.justanswer.com/uploads/A...mart_panel.png
This article has pictures of the SJB: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...horn_mod.shtml
The Interior Lamp relay is a 5 pin relay, when it's activated the arrow will point to the right and 12v will flow to dome light, pin 14, if Battery Saver relay is ON
When Interior Light relay is OFF then the arrow points to the left, which is the connection to Dimmer Wheel switch, pin 10
So if you turn dimmer up all the way it will send 12v to pin 10 and power up the dome light(pin 14), but only if Battery Saver Relay is still ON

I would pull off the kick panel
That's the SJB(smart Junction Box) behind it
It is the "Body Computer", runs all the cab electrics
Looks like this: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec..._project-5.jpg
There are 4 large wire connectors, each has a lever on it, you pull on the lever to push up the connector away from the SJB
Unhook Battery Negative cable first
Then unplug each connector
Look at each connector and its base/plug-in for corrosion, clean it if seen
Then plug it back in
Unplugging and plugging back in CLEANS each pin and slot if there was no obvious corrosion seen
Do each connector
Also unplug and look at the 2 relays, black boxes at bottom left
You can also unplug and plug back in each fuse if you want
If problem still happens then you will need to change the SJB, its an internal issue, inside this part of the SJB: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec..._project-9.jpg
No programming is needed, and there are just two models, with keyless entry(fobs), and without keyless entry(no fobs)
And no, you can't added keyless entry just by changing the SJB, lol
