Transceivers are just Powered antennas so can be changed without any programming needed
They have 4 wires
12v, key on
Ground

Data +
Data -

In 1999/2000 Ranger all 4 of these wires come from PATS module above glove box

 

I've found that the connectors differ between years and/or models, but I was able to switch the connectors on two of mine without issue.

 

Ron I appreciate all the help youve given and Fordzilla the one i ordered was direct plug n play and i want to appologize for the first post i put on this thread and sounding rather rude i hope this fixes my error 12 code because everything but that is working and like i said when i unplug it i get the 11 or no power so my deduction was the sensor was broken some how

 

If you unplug the transceiver you will get code 11, every time, on Type B PATS
Type B has the separate PATS module and it sends the 12v to the transceiver's power booster, and module is also the Ground for the booster
So with key on the Module should "see" 12v on the transceivers "Ground wire" before module grounds it, to power it up

So if you unplug transceiver then no 12v IN so no 12v OUT, and code 11

 

Alright RonD, I thought I would give you one final update my pats transceiver came in yesterday and got installed this morning after sitting 30 minutes thinking I needed the locksmith to program beings i didnt have the proper key to program them myself... It programmed them ITS SELF im shocked that it could do that idk how or why, idk if it was supposed to but im in and she runs like a champ again

 

My 2011 ford ranger sport has been down for month. checked volts replaced coil. replaced ignition pat box didnt need reset.still says low amps to pcm can not finish pcm scan and the big one... does not recognize key!
