Only Hot Air Blows Through Defrost All The Time *PLEASE HELP*
Hi guys. I sure hope someone here can help me. Here is the problem.
For whatever reason, only hot air blows through my defrost, no matter what setting the climate control is on. I can't turn it off, it blows all the time. The only thing I can change is how hard it blows. Even when the ***** are in the off position, hot air still comes through.
When this first started, the air conditioning and everything worked fine. It seems that it may have started when I had a new CD player installed, but I can't honestly say. I couldn't take it back to the people who put it in because it was Circuit City and they are now out of business.
I love this truck so much, and it has been in my family since new and runs and drives great and is well maintained. However, I can't afford to spend hundreds to get this fixed right now.
I'm not very mechanically inclined at all so if you could please dumb down (explain in detail) your responses that would be fantastic.\
I really do appreciate any and all responses.
Thank you!!

This has been covered on this forum many times before.
Please use the 'search' button at the top of the pane and also post your truck's year,model,engine.....ect.
Now the short answer is , You have a vacuum leak in your heater controls .
Most likely a hose has been knocked off.

Thanks for the replies. I did, in fact, use the search button before I posted the question, but I couldn't find the exact problem I am experiencing. I did forget to put that it was a 95 Ranger with a 4.0 automatic in my post. The ones with similar issues were usually much newer models and I wasn't sure if the layout was the same with my older vehicle.
Again, thanks for the replies.
