Radio help

Hi, I have a 2008 Ford Ranger I originally thought I blew my speakers due to heavy bass..so I bought new ones once installed no sound..fast ward checked the wiring no issues..shut the door and boom sound..then no sound..
might be a lose wire behind the radio any ideas?

Does the radio shut off or does it just MUTE like a TV mute control?

Ford added a MUTE to the radio and it acts up in alot of Fords, could be a problem in the SJB(smart junction box) in passenger kick panel

But try pulling out fuse #22, 5amp and see if that disables MUTE

in 2008 Fuse #22 runs to radio and shows as "Hot in START" and only reason I can see using a Hot in START is to mute audio so maybe SJB uses that for other things

If opening and closing the door gives sound-no sound, one of the wires going from the body to the door is broken inside the insulation.
