SHOCKING NEWS!

got some super duty shock mounts today.

had to mod them a lil

plus we spray bombed everything

had to drill a top/third hole in the brackets after cutting them down.

next used some 1.5"x4" steel and made some spacer/mount brackets then welded them to the frame.

the shocks mounts are cheap!

just 23 bucks each new from ford, of course i get a 25% discount.

however the nuts are 3 bucks each! and you have to buy a bag of 4!

BTW DAYMN look at that weld!

Not bad man!

I'd actually probably cut the other end of the tube off (just where it rounds into the backside) and weld the nuts in place that way I could weld that plate on and then just run the bolts in and now have to have a wrench inside the tube to tighten it down.. just what I would do though :-D

uh i think i understand you.

thats what i did. i used a wrench to hold the nut on the backside of the 1.5"x4" tube.

most of this stuff it crap i have laying around. nuts and bolts are not a problem lol

did anyone also notice that the headlights are clear now.

they were starting to look ****ty so i did some polishing.

got the front frame braced yesterday. all he needs now is a drag link.

Ya know..

Thats the same truck that was messed-up in a wreck not 2 years ago.. Talk about a resurrection!

Its amazing what a father/son combo can do! If only more folks did thinks like this.

haha yeah, its the same truck!
i think you seen it before it was wrecked once at the bbq meet.

thanks D.!



on another note, i picked up an ARE tonneau cover for $75 last night.
it needs some work but it will be fine when im done with it.

the shell is fine, i just need to get some struts and fix the frame.

the jeep pitman arm didnt pull up as tight as the ranger arm to the steering box.

used red loc-tite and sent it home with my matco TNT gun. it should be good.

a plus the arm i got today was a 2 inch drop unit for a yj.

wow i just read the whole thing for the first time and im very impressed... i think i might go with leafs and a similar setup to yours when i do mine
