Who knows....
Once I finally get my bumper & steps mounted - I'm about done with it for now I think.
Perhaps I'll get bored & want to modify something else, but after this supercharger adventure - anything else is pretty much a 'letdown' at this point. lol
I just don't see performing an SAS or V8 swap on this truck - so I think it's the end of the road.

Well, I just got a call from the tuner giving me an update….
He was trying to get me to upsize the supercharger already since up here in this elevation - we are only seeing 5.5-6 pounds of boost with this setup (would be around 7.5-8.0 @ Sea-level). Then he sort of backtracked & realized that it's only a Ranger w/ stock internals....and we shouldn't push it much more. Lol
Combine that information with my recent lack of desire when it comes to the truck - and I decided that I'm staying where I'm at with it.
He also confirmed what I thought would be the case - That adding the water/meth injection will only be insurance against higher intake temperatures during prolonged use - but he won't be able to increase the overall power because of it.
Basically, he's a little leery about making a 'razor's edge' setup for the truck. Which I told him I wasn't really after anyway - Least not with the setup that's on the truck (double lifted & 35's)! If I was lowered & going for maximum power – I could see pushing it a little more.
So with that - I have a feeling these horsepower numbers are going to be much, much lower than what most are hoping for around here. However - It will still be a healthy increase over the stock setup w/ 35's - I know that much! lol
But at the end of the day – I would have to agree, a Ranger V6 is a Ranger V6. Lol
Also, in case anyone is wondering - I don’t really regret doing this last round of modifications to the engine or anything. It was a good learning experience that will come in handy when I pick the next vehicle platform to upgrade to some crazy level…
I know it will happen - it's just a matter of when and what vehicle.

I wasn't expecting out of the park numbers but I would think you would around the 230HP range.
I'm still considering the supercharger mod, although I will take your post into consideration.
My first option was a crate 302 swap, basically buy a complete setup and rip out all the stock stuff

I picked it up today from the tuner. Overall, it did slightly better than I thought it might given the tire situation.
Maximum RWHP: 218.4 (222.8 Outright Peak)
Maximum Torque: 220.9
More importantly, it runs much better - Hard to explain but it has a nice 'solid' feeling to it.
From the limited amount of time while driving it home, it seems like the pinging is completely gone (which is a good thing for the engine!).
He mentioned the water/meth injection really does help lower the intake temperatures a substantial amount (easy 50 degrees). Overall, it should be good insurance policy.

Alright, got a few lingering items wrapped up today on the truck....
I finally got my pair of skid plates mounted (front & transfer case) from Josh over at RCI Metalworks (RCI Metalworks).
I also mounted my modified N-Fab rails mounted. They are typically designed to mount on only the pinch weld - but that isn't happening on my truck. On each side, I'm running two 'legs' out from the frame in order to tie into this main bar. With this upgraded mounting, they will be able to work as a solid jack point as well.
Last & definitely not least, I finally got some time to mount my bumper from Jon over at Fearce Offroad (Fearce Offroad- Heavy Duty Winch Bumpers for Ford, Dodge, Chevy, GMC, and Toyota). Built like a tank. The fit is excellent & I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It fits nice and tight to the bodylines which was exactly what I was after.
I also adjusted my coilovers to make the truck level after this heavy-duty bumper was mounted. lol
The coilover spring compressor tool I purchased last month worked slick & made adjusting the coilovers a very simple process without risking screwing up the threads on the body.
Now onto a couple pictures:

Love the bumper, it goes good with the steps. Are the PIAAs wired to the headlight/park lights?
Now that you've had some wheel time with the truck what do you think of the supercharger?
I'm still debating getting one. Is the performance a night and day difference? Obviously the supercharger will be cheaper than a my plan of a full V8 crate motor/tranny swap.

Actually, right now they aren't even wired in at all. lol
Sometime when I have additional motivation - I'll probably just use the factory log light wire to trigger the PIAA relays. I like the factory style switch options.
If I really get carried away - I do have a spare bezel that has two factory fog light buttons, so I could wire each pair of PIAA's separately.
It's got some pretty good 'get up & go' - for a Ranger. But at the end of the day it's just a Ranger. lol
I knew that I wasn't going to do the full bore performance based V8 setup in this truck, so the supercharger adventure definitely maintained my interest & provided a valuable learning experience that will come in handy when I go even further overboard on whatever other vehicle I run with next. lol

We did the install of everything at my companies shop - I'd have to ask our shop mechanic what the story is on that setup.
He's always working on something - whether it's one of our site trucks or a side project - like my truck! lol
I actually purchased a modified 'dual fog light' bezel from 'Buggman' years ago - I've just never installed that either. lol

Read the entire thread....WOW OH WOW! I've always admired that avatar of yours. What's crazy is I just don't remember you from back in the day (05-10) when I used to be really active....and you're an early RF'r like myself and a couple others whom posted in the thread. I read the truck has really low miles...what's the story behind it? How long have you had the truck?
Do you happen to have pictures of your projector retrofit?
Great work, Logan. Awesome truck!
This literally made me laugh out loud.
YES!
^THIS!!! Absolutely this!

You should send me your corner lights so I can paint that ugly white ring and send them back. The fluted lenses are a pain to do but once they are black they look so much cleaner!
#295
Are you able to just paint that ring black without repainting the complete corner interior?
My corners are already painted to match my retrofitted headlights - I'm sure the black you can use would be close to the color they used (jet black with a gloss clear coat) - but it would bug me if the overall corner didn't match afterwards.
Right back at you!
My truck didn't really takeoff until a few years ago...then this thread happened. lol
I've always had my company supplied vehicle so the Ranger doesn't have to get driven very much - It's only my toy vehicle
I didn't trust myself to properly install the FXR 3.0's into my housings - so I actually paid to have mine professionally retrofitted by Lightwerkz (OEM HID Projector Retrofit Parts & Service Specialists I Lightwerkz.net) so I don't have 'in-progress' type pictures.
Not cheap by any means - but they do excellent work, and I love how mine turned out.

Yeah, next weekend I'm having the alignment checked then afterwards as long as the weather holds - I'll get some full photos posted. Been awhile since I had some new ones.
Hmmmm..interesting thought right there....

It just makes the corner look so much cleaner IMO.
I am working on a set of fxr 3.0s now to replace my d2s, the intensity from the fxr is nuts my dads 150 has fxrs with 35w ballasts and they are brighter then my 55w d2s.

PM sent!
Yeah I love my setup, I combined the FX-R 3.0's with the OEM Denso Ballasts using Osram CBI Bulbs, and it's amazing!

lol well thanks!
Right back at you!
Yeah I was always around - just didn't post a whole bunch, mainly absorbing the information. lol
I purchased the truck brand-new from my local dealer back in 2003. She's my baby.
I've always had my company supplied vehicle so the Ranger doesn't have to get driven very much - It's only my toy vehicle

Dude, that's cool you've had her since new! Mine has had a sad past couple of years...accumulating like 3k in 2011 and 5k in 2012. 2013 is on a roll for 3k again. lol.
Which reminds me...I need to get around to trying to making my FX-R 1.1's fit. I gave up last time in favor of D2S 3" experimentals.

Last week I heard about some LED signal mirror-glass replacements (Thanks Grev) made by Muth so you know what I had to do next - purchase them. lol
They showed up today & like I said before, maybe this will be the motivation I need to actually install my 06+ mirrors (It's only been like 14 months). lol
Can anybody confirm that this glass 'mounting' is the one for a manual mirror setup as well? Something has me thinking that this might be for a power mirror setup - but they didn't specify and/or clarify on the website, so I might just be overthinking. Guess I'll find out when I remove the glass from my mirrors.
