oh it's just not engaged in the transfer case, it's turning freely with the axle. makes sense.

Yep, it turns when you're in 2wd.

yep, so if the wheels are turning, the driveshaft is turning freely. unless in 4wd, then it has torque applied, obviously :p

Somewhere in there is the Superlift front driveshaft also!

Did you already buy gears for the front end? Some dude in for sale is selling a pre-geared front axle who could probably be talked into selling it for 200$+shipping which is a steal.

Well, besides ordering the wheels/tires, the EBC brake rotors will be here Monday...then I should be set.

Saturdays mission is to finish the install & aiming of my headlights (Custom HID projector retrofit).

Then I'm going to be installing the items in phases:
  1. Install the SSBC Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit. Buh-Bye drums!
  2. Install the new 11.28” front EBC rotors (for the RCD lift) & new front EBC pads.
  3. Install the pair of 'Zabeard Sliders' I never put on (purchased in '10).
  4. Front & Rear Gear Change & Install the front Torsen LSD.
  5. Install complete RCD suspension lift & Superlift front driveshaft.
  6. Slap on the new beadlock wheels & 35" tires.
  7. Enjoy the truck for a second...and not work on it.
  8. Repair whatever breaks!
  9. Apologize to my empty bank accounts!

I work tons of hours during the week, so it's hard to work on the truck all weekend-every weekend. So, it's going to be a process over a series of weekends. But, I figure the more I look at the parts...the quicker I will put them on!

About 16 months ago I purchased the complete conversion kit made by SSBC with the optional/upgraded black powdercoated calipers (Part #A114BK).

Link to the optional black caliper setup here: http://www.jegs.com/i/Stainless+Stee...114BK/10002/-1

Link to the standard caliper setup here:http://www.jegs.com/i/Stainless+Stee.../A114/10002/-1

The prices have gone up about 15% since I purchased it from Jegs....but it still wasn't a cheap way to go.

Brand new; right from Torsen. Couple of guys on here have them - I've heard nothing but great reviews about them.

Well, I just about wrapped up the install of my HID projectors today. I pulled a wire out of the crappy fuse holder, so I ordered a new "heavy-duty" setup to replace it. But before that broke, I got everything wired & aimed.

Today I also officially pulled the trigger on the set of five Trail-Ready beadlock wheels (w/ the black rock-ring & satin black finish) as well as five packs of Dynabeads (for tire balancing) - So burned through another $2,300!

Besides the tire purchase...I should be done with the "big ticket" stuff for now.

What do you figure you'll have in this thing by the time it's "done"?

Well, I just added up everything since the May 20th purchase of the RCD kit, and so far it's $6,800. Pricing the five new tires online it looks like it will be an additional $1,500 (give or take - when taxes & fees are added).

So, just for this portion of the truck life, it's looking to be about $8,300...not counting any install costs. Ouch - that's somewhat painful!

That doesn't include the rear disc brake conversion kit or anything else I purchased months ago & just didn't install until now. The "total" above is just the items related to the 'Double Lift Adventure'.
