Project Search and Rescue
Did another run up to lonesome lake this weekend, got to take advantage of our tracks form last time and it was much easier to get to the top. no snow bashing so that was good!
we had 4 lifted rangers, 1 explorer and a TJ.
the obligatory air down shot.

this was getting close to the top, with the elevation gain we had to air down again because tires were going from 8-12 PSI

Getting turned around at the top of one of the spurs we ran.

looking from atoms truck up the trail to mine.

parked up at the lake

clowning around and driving around atom.

atom stuck.

another group shot.

Josh dug himself in pretty good here, I need to get a kinetic recovery strap to make snow recoveries a little less jarring.

just prior to this photo all 3 of these rigs were stuck.

group shot

sweet park job

another nice park job.

looking up the spur road we ran.

this is where my day got fun, lol this snow drift we drove over no problem coming in but on the way out after being tracked then rained on it got icy. i got about half way over and and started to slide for the ditch backed up a little then forward and the bank gave out and I had a nice slide in. (no damage and I drove out of it (video to come)

here's Atom coming across the drift that sent me sliding. we dug a trench in the snow to hold the passenger side tires in. no buddy else had a problem.

Airing tires back up at the end of another fun day!

Over all a great day in the snow, deffinatly getting ready for summer though! Blake was the only rig not to get stuck on the trip and that means one thing, he wasn't trying hard enough.
Im sure you are all getting tired of snow pics but I do have some video from the trip I am putting together too.

yeah looks like good times! good thing you didn't slide the other way! +2 on warmer weather, at least just enough to work in the garage with all the doors open. Just had the joys of what seems like the daily 4-5" snow shoveling duty again today. the mounds around my driveway are taller than me! getting harder to put the snow anywhere haha

Got the CV replaced tonight and also started to rework my Limit straps. also put my new toy to use.
Miller 211

My last set up was 100% bolt on and worked OK but I managed to bend my mounting clevises to the point of not being functional.

so now that I have a welder I changed them up
New vs old ( you can see the bend in the lower mounted clevis.)

the new set up uses a sleeve and standoffs that is welded to the frame next to the shock tower support bracket.
Lower tab mounted and burned in

all painted and tight ( this should be much more robust.)

New Parts, figured while I was replacing 1 CV I might as well do both and replace the wheel bearings at the same time.

out with the old

In with the new (its amazing what some degreaser and a wipe down will do, it is black under all the dirt!)

Take a look at Josh's build thread, I did his and I think he has a close up pic or 2.
Ok I should be able to do that, txt me as we get closer in the week and we can set up details
Well today was an expensive day, I ordered my modd box supercharger kit to go along with the M90 I bought a few months back.
should be a fun build I am looking forward to learning a thing or two about these motors.

went out on a training mission last weekend and one of the other units rigs could not make this hill couldn't go up couldn't go down so we were in for a lot of winching, open diffs and semi worn tires were not good in this snow.

had to put the truck in the ditch up top to anchor it.

getting closer and re setting the cable

made it, got him turned around and sent back down

up at the radio towers, I got to break trail through 2 feet of heavy wet snow, the truck was warm my the time we made it to the top. had to bash a few times on some of the steep bits but overall it just kept going!

This is my favorite kind of sign! we needed 4x4 from the second we started going up the hill but knew we were in for some fun when we saw this sign. the road turned strait up here, it was super steep and had 12in of snow on it. made it up OK but had to chain up to come down, even with chains we still slid most of the way down this hill.

I have been looking at that kit as well. Did you order the basic kit and what size pulley did you get/will you use? I bought an M90 about 2 months ago, but I haven't had it re-built yet as it looks like its in good condition and I have heard some guys run them that way. Did you have your re-built or are you going to at all before the install? Thanks and can't wait to see the progress!!

The m90 I bought was fully rebuilt be the pervious owner and hasn't been run yet. To
Me it's a why not rebuild it thing. It's cheap insurance.
I'm planning to run just the basic 3psi pulley to start then will upgrade my plugs, injectors and do some tuning and step to the 3.5 or the 5 psi pulley.
what led's did you order for you corner lights and running lights ? I looked at superbright LED but theres like 20 different kinds
