E-Fan vs truck temp?

Ok living in arizona I'm really worried about getting an Efan. Its been 114 a few days (I think) already and Im real worried that if I get an Efan that it wont cool as good as my stock fan. I just want to hear how your guys temps did, both engine temp and a/c temp after install?

Not to down the efan, but my truck has not been the only truck it failed on.

I had the fan on for a while. When city driving, tranny was at 180* and ac was starting to get warmer than usual. When offroading, my tranny would reach 210 and the engine would actually run hot enough for the stock temp gauge to start going up and eventually overheat itself.

After I threw on the stock fan, it is 97* out today 100 percent humidity, I just drove about 25 miles city and my tranny was 165, A/C cold as can be, no problems. when I go offroading (almost never anymore, but when I first did the efan) I was running 180 at the max tranny temp. Engine never even came close to heating up.

Ask Kevoo (kevin) what he thinks about the efan, his took a crap on him down in ft lauderdale, about 30 mins from our houses. The controller failed, then his fan failed, so we put his stock fan back on. Works like a charm now, a/c is colder to boot. But when he would go offroading we would have to stop, let the engine cool down, and then go again, PITA

I highly reccomend against an e-fan, I want the least electrical things on my truck to go wrong. Plus your towing will be affected, and your tranny temp goes up, a/c isn't as cold. Just 2 trucks this happened to. I hated my Efan, not saying it's a bad product, just not for me.

yea screw the e-fan. my controller broke and the ties holding the fan on broke. and yea my ac wasnt as cold as it was with the stock fan. I just think its better to not have the worries of an e-fan. and its def not worth it to free up some hp, i didnt really notice any difference.

The pulleys will also drop the A/C temp while sitting at an idle in traffic because the compressor will be running slower.

I have ran no fan for a week or so when the temps where in the 90's.

As long as your moving the fan doesn't play much of a role.

With the efan I have never had an overheating incident, even when stuck in the drive threw for 20 minutes with the ac on.

I took my efan out to Death Valley and 105 degree heat while climbing hills and offroading and I had no issues with overheating or AC troubles. Granted, I do think the tranny runs a little warmer, but without a gauge I am for naught to give a definitive answer. I like it if for nothing else but the engine is quieter.

i cant seem to keep my truck cool with the efan.

I was forced to buy a replacement while wheeling at the dunes because the Efan died. The one i have now does not have enough CFM for running the A/C and running the truck through a city. It just continues to get hotter and hotter but i have never tested it to see if it would over heat.

As for the tranny i had to add an additional cooler to maintain cooler tranny temps.

After having one go bad and leaving me overheated and stranded, I put another one in with a big but................I keep the stock fan in the truck so I can yank the e-fan out and screw the original back in.

great... I read this after I just installed a efan! Now you guys have me worried!!!! I'm about to drive 2300 miles to Ohio and I don't want to get stranded. crap.

I may just bypass the fan controller and wire it to come on all the time when the truck is on.

My lil 4 banger seemed to run cooler today, and I can't say if the a/c was affected or not?

Just examples of a "performance mod" to stay away from!!!!!!! Don't throw your money away, and risk some serious engine (and/or tranny) damage!!!!

my efan has worked flawlessly.....my a/c is cooler than it was with the stock fan, my engine stays about the same temp, and my tranny stays about the same temp......when driving anything over 50 mph, you don't even need a fan......

the proper efan will pull more CFM than the stock mechanical fan.....i would however recommend mounting the efan in the stock shroud that way it pulls the air through the entire radiator......<< i think that is were some of you guys are running into trouble from...

why else would another company do tests on someone elses fan to determain the CFM? im pretty sure that theyre going to be pretty close on the CFM from the manufacture

you do not need the stock shroud, the efans have shrouds already.

as for the efan not needed on the highway, ride with me on a hot day i can show you the differences of running and not running an efan on the highway, shows right on my gauge.

I like the efan but buy the best your money can buy.

I've always been a little uncomfortable with the notion of an electric cooling fan. I understand that on some applications they are pretty much a necessity (transversely mounted engines, for example), but that doesn't mean I have to like them.

reasoning behind the stock shroud is so the air is pulled across the whole radiator.....unless your efan was designed for a Ranger and the shroud that it has covers the entire radiator, the efan is only pulling air through the radiator were the fan is located at on the radiator and no were else...

never had that problem.....mine always runs right at 190* on the highway and the fan never kicks on.....you might have another problem somewhere else...
