Became the rescue ranger last night. Parents went camping and stalled at the top of a hill about an hour out of town, took off work early to show up there as the hero with the AAA card.

Rotated tires, inflated, refueled, acetoned-sanded-and brakeleened the rotors and drums, brake bleed, oil change, steering fluid flush and fill, new TB gasket and IAC paper gasket.

Yesterday I took out my Polkdb coaxials and installed a pair of Infinity Kappa 682.9 coaxials. The Kappa's sound a little "richer" but not quite as loud as the db's with the 2x60w Boston amp.I still need to do a little fine tuning though. The Boston amps have the Q-tune feature which I've never taken the time to utilize.I think I'm gonna put the db's along with the Boston amp in the rear deck of my car and buy a 2x100 watt for the Kappa's in the Ranger.

Today after work I visited the local pull-a-part salvage yard trying to find a front signal lamp socket for my car. What a rip off.It cost $2 just to look and everything was basically just a stripped cab.On top of that after I entered I saw a sign that said the minimum price for any part was $35.I did see a set of white face guages and a couple OHC's for a Ranger/Explorer.I was hoping to find a set of bucket seats from an Explorer but no dice.

attempted to install my camburg 2.5" lift, failed miserably, and was rewarded with a random dead battery

naw dead battery up on his driveway, but there was no room for him to get up there side by side so we coasted it down. I couldnt get closer to the curb because he was parked there, but the cables were to short and our batteries are on opposite ends so he had to pull out and jump it in the street. It was a long failure ridden day.....

Today I have made up my mind and within a few months I'm gonna trade it in for a 2008+ Ranger. There's just to many damn problems with this thing and I've just gotten sick of dumping all my money on repairs. So over the next couple months I need to, take my body lift off and find a cheap set of wheels and tires to put on it, pull my amps and sound system out, install explorer hubs and cvs so that it will have 4x4 again, replace a few pieces on the interior and take it over to my dads place and throw a quick cheap paint job on the truck.

I wouldn't worry about the 4x4. I doubt they will even check it. When they ask if everything works just say to the best of your knowledge it does. It won't help your trade in value at all.

Finally installed my J.D. Traction bars. Went good except for the on and off raining all day. Had to stop several times to run indoors outta the down pour.

Neglected it for another day. The Focus has been getting all of my attention lately; I just installed a Magnaflow cat-back on it this afternoon after work.

Found out I have a hub in the beginning stages of starting to go. It'll need a new one around fall, probably the same time i do brakes and Rotors/Drums all the way around.
