The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread
Last night:
Installed the 50 buck CL special Reese hitch receiver, after I spent time the day before coating it with fresh paint. Looks new and is much better than the old receiver with the hitch rusted to it.
Today:
Hauled scrap to the scrapyard. Loaded both the truck and trailer up. Brought home some green and got rid of scrap that I simply don't need laying around. Ranger tows pretty well. Didn't stall the truck or burn the clutch.

Did all the wiring for 2 100w lights for my bull bar. Hoping to install the lights themselves sunday or monday. The gasket the covers the where the wires go through the firewall is a PITA to put back on.
Got the 6x9s installed and they just sound bad *** all the way around. Haven't even put the amp back in, just running off the head unit and they sound a million times better then the 5x7s did with the amp. Def well worth the little bit of sheet metal I had to cut. And the front ones fit behind the door panel with no issues, not sure on the rear ones yet, might have to take the speaker cover off of them to get them to fit behind the panels.

Got the passenger side shock/shock mount done.
Now to muster up the will to attack the driver's side... Thinking about doing it early tomorrow morning, as it's supposed to be over 80 degrees later on in the day.
If I get that done in the morning, maybe I'll get that lower stress bar onto the VW... that will be an interesting item to test out after finishing the install...
Who's the asshat that keeps giving me negative props?

changed the oil and tried to take the dog for a ride but he did NOT want to get into the truck. hes scared of it for some reason and i cant pick his big *** up into it lol. it will be a few weeks but once i get my employee bonus im gonna put a flowmaster exhaust on it so the back sounds good just like the front thanks to the cold air intake

it wont be done today but im also thinking pulling the rear bumper off to cut some holes for LED strobes that i use during the winter so none of the country boys around here run my *** over with there huge jacked up trucks in a snow storm cause they couldnt see my lights til they were right on top of me. i got another set that will be hooked up and attached to the inside of my grill. i also plan to get an LED light strip to go between the tailgate and the bumper just for the hell of it

Vacuumed (she was filthy inside)
Installed extended cab storage box in place of rear seats.
Installed black shorty console.
Cured the strange rattle noise I hear sometimes.

Purchased ALL sorts of new stuff to install in the future:
- RCD 4x4 Lift Kit (BNIB) - $ 2,189.00
- Superlift Drive Shaft - $ 406.00
- Front & Rear 4.88 Yukon Gears - $ 505.00
- Torsen Front LSD - $ 530.00
I can already feel the power difference after putting Sea Foam treatment in today. I will have to get some spray and do the throttle body this friday. Bought two cans on sale at O'Rielly's today. Put in some new seat covers to cover my stains. Now I just have to buy a front hub bearing and replace the bad one on Friday with an oil change too, then i will be able to afford other things for the truck.
Yeah, was a VERY expensive day...I made similiar faces when I logged into my bank account this morning!

I entered the Heap in a show at Jack Byrne Ford in Mechanicsville, NY put on by the Adirondack Shelby/Mustang Club. Top 20 Mustangs/Top 20 FoMoCo. Fun little show--used it as a warm-up for Carlisle in 10 days
What I did on the long weekend:
Wash, clay bar some, wax:

Spray bedliner between the bed and tailgate (there is a huge gap that gets scratched here so I decided to protect it):

At Walmart there is a toilet brush for $8-$10 in Canada (it comes in a chrome cylindrical holder) that if you grind off some of the threads that you normally use to screw the handle on, makes an excellent attachment for a drill. It creates a great way to scrub your wheels without much effort:

Nope, that's just for the front & rear 'High Performance Yukon Ring & Pinion Set'.
I could have gotten them cheaper by using a different brand (Motive or USA Standard), but I have had good luck with the Yukon stuff, so I don't mind paying a premium.
