Picked up my truck yesterday after some Ford body shop paint love. Had the top of my front bumper repainted. The shop did a great job.
Only 54k on her and we plan to lineX the bed soon. Should I go over the rail or under the rail with the bedliner? Decisions decisions?
I am leaning towards under the rail as I don’t have plans to put a topper on it.
My FIL is 91 and gifted us this truck, so we are going to put a little $$$$ into it.Also installed a new spare as it still had the OEM spare from 04.
Removed the plate holder as we only run a rear tag here in NC. A work in progress.
Before After
New “Corsa” DCT tire brand spare.

Spent the last two days replacing the slave cylinder in my truck once again. I think I'm on number 5 or 6 at this point. Luckily this last one wasn't a total failure; it had a small air leak with no fluid loss so I was just bleeding the clutch system every few weeks for the last year or so since I was dreading pulling the transmission again. Ford slave and Ford master cylinder assembly went back in so hopefully I can drive the truck for at least a few more years before I have to do this again.
Also took the opportunity to replace my U-Joints which were the 200,000-mile originals. I put greaseable Spicers back in so I shouldn't have to do U-joints again on this truck.
Thanks! I'm slightly unhappy as I took a chance and paid for the bumper to be painted before it shipped to me, but the company I bought it from painted a textured bumper cover, and so I can see the texture when I get up close to the bumper. Not sure how long that will last but the paint on the truck isn't in the best shape, so I guess it's not that big of a deal.
Installed the 5" Rough Country lift after a year of waiting. Well worth it. 33" Cooper tires on the original factory rims with 2" spacers to clear the new spindle.
I replaced the fuel pump assembly because I had lean codes and all the symptoms of a bad check valve. Turns out it was a split hose inside the old fuel pump assembly. I guess I'll replace the hose and keep the old pump as a spare.
Had an issue with my lower valance, and the company who sold it to me offered a partial refund, so I put that towards a honeycomb grille. Still need to paint the surround to match the truck, and the honeycomb part needs to be painted black because the dark argent color looks weird.

Sent mine back to Florida (from Texas) with my daughter. But before that, we had the transmission rebuilt (first gear was slipping and the dipstick tube had separated from the housing), new shocks, new control arms, new tires, stereo system with backup camera, and a window tint. That should hold her for a while. Might add an amp and sub when she comes home in the summer.
Visiting family and stopped by my old junkyard. Found a FX4 ranger! With the torsen rear end!! I couldn't take the whole thing but opened it up just for the insides and only found 4.10 gears of disappointment.
