The "What did you do to your Ranger today" thread
Took it to the shop and getting the Duratracs installed :).....having them look at the front pinion seal and if it's just the seal, they will install a new one along with the U-joint I provided from Moog/Precision. I can't wait to get her back today and see how she looks with the new rubbers on.

Thanks! My brother in law has 33x12.5 on his '95 Bronco and said that he would go slightly thinner next time. Lost of weight distribution on wet roads causes him to slide a lot. Nice in snow, but even he said mine would dig in a hell of a lot more. He'd destroy me in sand though. Oh well...give and take :)
Yeah, that's on the list. Found out that the dealer sold it to me with a generic tire shine product smeared on the bumper....hence the wavey, faded look. It was nice and clean originally, but the sun hates that oily crap.
That's what my bumper looks like it I don't keep back to black on it every few weeks. I need to paint it. Anyways nice tires :)
Just ordered Raybestos camber bolts for my rig. I will hopefully get them by Friday/Saturday, put them on and get it re-aligned. Then, front brakes and rear diff fluid and cover.
Gotta get it ready for a trip to NY next month, so that should be good.

Damn! Where?
I need to scavange the salvage yards for these because I want the front, transfer case and rear diff plate....maybe the gas tank too.

I really want a gas tank skid.
The transfer case and gas tank skids are very common and shouldn't have a problem finding them. The front skid I've been looking for years and finally found it. Funny thing is I was about to buy one of Joshp7's front skids next month.
Drain, fill, replace:

Brakes (Thermo quiet pads are AWESOME):

Camber bolts:

Funny thing that happened and scared the living crap out of me was after the brake bleed. All was normal and when the truck came back down out of the air, I put it in reverse and ......nothing. The front end torqued, but the rear was NOT moving. At first I thought the calipers were binding for some reason, Ended up taking the left rear drum off after backing the shoes in ALL the way. I hammered the drum off and readjusted the brakes and after about 20 minutes of trial and error......it worked.
Front right brake hose is leaking at the caliper because the ones I got I had to get copper washers for (they must have fallen out of the box in shipping). Apparently, the ones Salvo gave me were too big, so the seal isn't good. Oh well....it'll sit until I get to it next week.

I know a guy at Belle Tire who can get you both sides done for $50
Hooked the computer to it. P0457. Since check fuel cap light was on, I fixed the fuel cap, told the computer I fixed the problem, code's gone for now. Tried to charge my dad $30 for fixing it. I figured because I'm going to a tech school to be a mechanic might as well start early. He cut me a deal and said I could drive the truck for fixing it. It worked out in the end.
