Looking good man! An observations and suggestion:

I think I read somewhere on your thread that you were going to get 6 lug axles for the rearend.

Pros: Will match the front.
Cons: Custom axles. I don't believe I have seen 6 lug Ford 9" axles on a production vehicle but I could be wrong. Why is this a con? Well, if you break one on the trail, you will have to custom order a replacement unless you order spares ahead of time. This means your vehicle will be immobile until the axles arrives. If you're on a pretty gnarly trail, it may not be recoverable and you may have to do the axle swap then and there. IF you don't already have the replacement axle with you, it will put you in a bad bind. This would also mean custom drilled drums or rotors. Anything with the word custom before it means a lot of money or a lot of work.

Options: Swap the front to a Ford 5 lug pattern. All this should be doable with factory production parts. Why would this be better? Anything that was produced as an OEM parts is more readily available than custom parts. You would need to locate some Ford knuckles, outer shafts (maybe), spindles, rotors, etc. This would allow you to keep the 9 inch with stock axles which you can easily (time and money wise) find replacement axles for and carry a couple with you on the trail.

I already have 2 spare axles ready to go for my 9" and can acquire more at a whopping $25 an axle. My local preferred junkyard has about 100 ready to be pulled.

Looking forward to the progress, good luck.

Fred

Well of course you agree. It's not your money lol.

Thanks for pointing that out Fred. I completely forgot about hanging the knuckles and stuff.

Looks like I'm going to need some new wheels. Recentered h1's?

Well i figured i would update this thread with a small bump.

I havent had much time to work on the truck due to funds and time.
I sold the dana 60 and 14 bolt to recoupe some cash, and in return i bought this:

i also picked up a dana 20 to put behind either a c4 or a 4r70w. what ever i can find for a good price is what i will end up using.

picked up some early bronco radius arms and coil springs:

got my high steer arms in yesterday along with my spindle bushings so i decided to put them in today:

greased up the bearings and threw them in the hub housings:

bolted everything up and set the calipers on the spindle, dont have my seals yet for the bearings.

also picked up a set of OEM ford locking hubs out of a bronco for 20 bucks:

and then i got some 15x8 classic II's for 100 bucks.

so thats it for now, until i get my stage 8 spindle lock nut kits for the d44 and the radius arm bushing kit from bronco graveyard

What size are you going with? I've got a set kicking around left over from when I had my Mustang.
