yep I saw you did I will for sure do as much strength adding as I can before I button it up for good. I only want to do it once. I should be getting "Ranger's" diff with the 4.88s in it and then ordering my headers this week as well so I can get them done while I have good room.

ahh thats right you said Ballistic. Yeah I'll be picking up a few of those for sure.

Well I had a little scare today when I got my calipers and discs for the rear axle. I all of a sudden thought oh ****..what if a 16" rim wont clear the calipers. I got them home and I clear with about 1/2" space. I was greatly relieved cause otherwise getting new rims and tires is just another major roadblock

just a little size comparison to the ranger fronts. wish my fronts were the same size

yeah I'm tryn man. last couple days I was dealing with funeral stuff so now I can get my mind focused back on the build. I should be ordering all I need next week. I may be skipping bedsides and maybe fenders just to throw the money at getting nice shocks out back, And then get the fenders and bedsides later. For sure I'd like to get the front ones but the rear ones can wait.

Nice. When you say all you need you mean the whole long travel kit as well? Or just fenders?

Either way should be cool to see this transformation.

Just put in a few orders. got the 4.88 gears for the 9.75,picked up some adapters for 5x4.5(I'll get the shafts re-drilled later, time and finding a shop to do them is running out, been trying for a while) Got the money I've been waiting on coming in for a while and should be able to buy the front and rear kits after work tomorrow if the money is cleared and in. also picking up Ranger's carrier with the 4.88's in it, sending his money tonight. Also have a 1-3/4 die set on order and a tube notcher

next thing I have to figure out is wtf I'm going to do about the rear diff. its open, and I really am not dign that. I dont think I'll have the bank for a locker before the trip. I dont want to be in 4x4 the whole time either. So maybe I should weld it? It would only be for this one trip maybe. The locker market for the 9.75 is quite small, with detroit being the only true locker and just a couple posi/lsd ones

If you want to run a locker, Detroit is a very good option. I have heard that the Detroit true-trac is a great posi. The nice thing about the true-trac is that it is gear driven and does not use clutches. Both are available for the 9.75. Personally, I would not weld the spiders (Lincoln Locker) unless it is going to be a dirt only truck.

is your stock unit working pretty good? If I can find a cheap one local I might just use that for a while. I know my 8.8 lsd was a turd

also scratch the 1-3/4 die off, I'm just going to build with 1-1/2. I'll build the bed cage and some simple bumpers with it and when I build the cab cage I'm going to pick up the 1-3/4 then. I can use the $370 on some other good **** before the first trip.

well its a done deal. Called DBR and Giant and got my orders in. I got the last set of axles before a 3month wait on more..that was lucky. lots of money to see go, but it should be awesome. We still dont know what shock we are going to run as the fox's might take to long and they are getting harder to deal with Aaron said. So maybe Radflo's, saw's, kings not sure at this point.
