rngprerunners Project Log: Stock to Not
Yea I can't wait to be able to take this stupid thing out for some testing and shock tuning either... it pains me to see it sitting in the driveway... oh well... it will be worth it eventually.
Like Trent alluded to, here is the plan for the cage. I've been so hammered at work the last couple weeks I haven't had time to work on it beyond this, but this weekend it's on!

Yea, the blue tape is just for mock-up, for the final build I'm going to use either gray duct tape or black gaffers tape, I just need to check and see which is SCORE legal.
Oh, and sorry for not calling you back... I refer back to my completely slammed comment... it's been a wild two weeks.

Im really interested in the fuel cell setup, mainly the pump and line setup. I was looking to keep my stock fuel pump and run a cell mainly cause I didnt know where to start with reduing the fuel system. You wouldnt happen to have a parts list, maybe some prices?

How exactly are you tying the cage to the frame? Are you going to go with a floor mounted type sandwich type and then just reinforce the bottom with bigger plates and tie those to the frame?
Or are you going to actual drill holes and tie the cage straight to the frame?

Boy was I wrong about that one... lol... anyway...
Finally, noticeable progress is being made. There's not much to say really, the tube is all 1 3/4" .120 DOM, the same as I built the rear half out of. Besides that keep checking back for updates as we draw closer to getting this thing back out into the dirt! (and no, that's not the final mounting point for that piece, it's just sitting there, close to where it's going)
Any questions? lol

Lookn good Jason! was wondering how it was going.

are you going to run down tubes out where the 3rd brake light is? or is that area just cleaned up for any tubes that will be bracing the roof area?
if that makes any sense haha. if not ill put the pic. in Paint and draw what im talkin bout

If I'm reading what you're saying right then yes, that is why that area next to the third break light is open.
are you doing anything for a 3rd brake light or just going to get rid of it completely?
and what kinda welder are ya using
Nope, not quite on the same page... third break light is going nowhere. Down tubes are going to pop out through the corners where the material was removed.
That's actually the C-Pillar, and yea, it will be right up at the roof line. I couldn't set it up that high or it would fall over... lol... it's not mounted to anything, just chilling in there...
Looks like a spider web lol. Looks great man. I was looking through Off-Road the other day in Walmart opened it up and whose white Ranger was on the inside cover page but yours! Thought that was pretty cool, the girlfriend didn't understand why lol
And that's not my truck... the one on the inside cover is the SI Motorsports truck. Mine is on page 82... haha...
Does that actually work? I've tried scotch bright/wd-40 and it doesn't work. All I've found that really works is 100grit sand paper/wd-40. Bah, it adds character... lol
