The rust isn't the problem, it is the lock tight that Ford uses on them.

The bolts actually came out more or less fine... it was the dang pucks that were stuck together... after fiddling with the first one though I figured out that a large punch and baby sledge worked great and the last few came out pretty easily... still though I'd hate to do it on a midwest truck thats for sure!

Update for today...

Carry on... I'm going back to work..

Probably not no, the belts will likely bolt to the rear hoop. The spacing is really tight with the large seats I have in it. But I won't know for sure until I actually get the seats mounted.

Since it seems most have lost interest or just don't care this will be the last update.

Cage is now 95% complete.

Dash is 90% installed.

To complete all I need is to mount seats/harnesses and reassemble the truck.

I burnt my arm pretty bad... I was over due for a fab accident.

Alon stopped by for a few, sorry I couldn't be more hospitable this was the first and only day I've had help so I had to keep pushing forward so I could keep him happy.

No photos.

I may post more once it's complete. We'll see.

That is all.

I actually did it yesterday, platting the A-Pillars. I was moving around and hit the underside of my left arm on the tube I had just welded. It did a number on me, but I can't let a little thing like a burn stop progress so I've been working through the pain... lol

atta boy. Burn myself all the time on hot parts. I have since learned to laugh it off, and have come to accept that the feeling in my fingers is severly diminshed from 2 years ago. haha

As for the truck:

I've been keeping watch on the thread, just being quiet since I don't know half of what's going on, other than a roll cage being built up. I'd like to see photos of how it all turns out with the dash and everything else back in... if it's not too much trouble.

Its lookin' damn good Jason! And I hear ya on those damn weld burns.

For those of us still following (even if silent; I'm a culprit) keep the updates coming, at least until you've completed it and have a shake-down run!

Alright, guess I'll keep updating this...

Cage is 100%, dash is 100% in, truck runs, seats are mounted, belts are mounted, bed cage is repainted. Tomorrow is patch the holes in the floor, paint cab cage, and put the carpet in. Then its put the suspension back together and fenders on and hit the dirt!
