Yea, don't worry about the notch. The back is completely plated in. And besides that, the frame won't actually be doing anything once the tube work is done. If I so desired I could have just chopped the frame off, but I chose not to.

Edit: See page 3 for photo...

Nope. I think I'm going to use the Corona setup on mine, I've heard its stronger and lasts longer

You read what I wrote right?

Hitch is ONLY on there for recovery purposes, not to tow anything. AND like I just said, the frame is no longer the structural part of the chassis. The tube structure that will be forming above it will be.

So yea, no concern about the hitch on this end.

I'm anxious to see how the tube turns out then! I see what you're saying about it, but I still wanna see how it all ties together. Does the tube mount to the frame closer to the cab? Will it tie into a roll cage inside the cab? I'm just curious.

What size tube are you going with?

The tube is going to mount to the frame in several places, probably like 6 places at least on each rail. It is also going to connect to the cab in, if I get my way, 7 places.

The tube is 1 3/4" .120wall DOM

In case one dies or my alternator dies I won't be left stranded in the middle of the desert.

Or

In the case I need to winch at night I can use both batteries at once. (Yea yea I know.. I still need the winch... lol)

How much did those battery boxes run you?

Do you have any info on setting up a dual battery system? Are you going to have the secondary battery isolated? I've done a little bit of research about them but not enough to where I feel comfortable putting one on my truck or my samurai.

I think they were like $60 each.

I don't have much info about a two battery set up because well its pretty simple to begin with the way I am doing it.

I am running a "Perko" switch normally used on boats. I have a four position switch, 1, 2, 1-2, OFF. Simply I can run either battery individually or both together or both off. The switch is rated at some stupid amount of amps. Simply run the (+) of each battery to the switch, run the (-) to the frame, run a (+) cable to the engine compartment and run the (-) in the engine compartment to the frame. Do I make sense or no?
