This weekend I did the big 3 upgrade (with 4 guage wire anyways) and I fixed a short in my brake lights, and then I fixed my center console, the bolt that came with the rockauto console fix had fell out, so it was loose, and the top was cracking on the inside, so I put a block of wood and a little padding on the inside to reinforce it and put it back together.

That makes me sad you had to fix it. I was hoping just throw it in and good to go from that point on.

Yeah it should be, I should have just thrown a block of wood in there when I originally did the armrest fix, just cut a small piece of 2x4 to stick in there or something just to reinforce
the top piece so that it is not hollow inside and you should be good, as far as the bolt goes, it must have been my fault and I forgot to tighten down the one side, because it comes with locknuts, so they should'nt fall off like that. user error on my part lol.

I installed a "new" Explorer radio bezel that has the slot for an extra fog light switch and a dedicated transfer case dial slot. The radio bezel I removed only had one fog light switch slot, and since it was from a 2WD explorer, I had to stick my transfer case dial in the cigarette lighter slot, and it was a very sloppy fit. I'm very happy. I also found out yesterday that my truck is pre-wired for fog lights underneath the hood and behind the dash.

I also changed out my solid red third brake light for a red and clear (cargo light) third brake light:

I will remember that. Also you are talking about the rear main bolt? Holding the armrest and the bracket that goes down to the console?

Lastly, I never really got a confirmed person saying (OMG it holds weight like crazy with no bending or sagging with weight) On the whole thread talking about this mod from a few years back.
So my random question is...Are you happy with it? Does it really hold REALLY well for someone who puts on a ton of weight on it while getting in and leaning on it with all their weight while you are not worried about it breaking???

hahahah I know a bit off topic buttt since you have it and were talking about it. I thought I might as well ask. :-P

I removed the seat covers from my replacement junkyard seat and washed them. Hopefully tomorrow, I'll be able to do the passenger seat.

Yeah, the kit comes with two large bolts to secure the bracket to the console and one fell off eventually I just think i forgot to tighten it down, but yes overall I am very pleased with the kit, one of the best mods I've done. As far as weight, yeah that's why the inside was cracking, but I weigh about 240, but it is alot sturdier than before, I just can't put all of my weight on it though, but now the armrest feels alot more solid. don't hesitate to get the kit
Though it's very well made, if the rest of the console was made as well as that thing, it would be a beast.

That sounds great! Thanks man. Yea while I'm putting it together I might add some materials on the inside as well. My dad weighs a bit more than that and has an amputated leg so whenever he gets in he always puts his full weight on the armrest. I'm scared its gonna go so I always lift it up when he gets in. That way he is resting on the console itself. (Kinda scares me too but oh well). haha

Put 35% window tint on the front two windows... looks awesome and wasn't nearly as hard as what everyone was saying... I paid $12 for the precut tint and it looks like a $200 tint job...

Will try and get pics up tomorrow.
