just picked up this 1998 4 x 4 extended cab with a 3.0 L. My first Ford Ranger, I’ve been catching up on 20 years worth of maintenance. Currently the list of work done over the last week or so: new rear end front differential fluid, transfer case fluid, new belt, new DPFE Sensor and silicone hoses, cleaned idle air control valve and mass airflow sensor, Heat treatment in the gas tank, checked and cleaned rear drum brakes, pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter, put a camper shell on her. Have a new cam sycro in hand I’m going to replace as a precaution. Only real issue that’s popped up is a horrible squealing I’m trying to find. Water on the belt quiets her down so hopefully the new idler pulley does the trick if not I think a new tensioner is in order. Thanks for having me on the forum
Nice truck. That camper shell looks right at home. For a little 'bling' polish the wheels and add a chrome exhaust tip. I've always liked girls who wore diamonds......that I didn't pay for.

Polish maybe, but I have to finish up fixin before I get polishin if you get my meaning
First I wish everyone would put in their signature what they own, at least what Ranger they own.
Next are all Ranger door the same ?
Next what year is your Ranger ?
It's a 96.
I think the 96 and 97 are direct fit, (1996 Federal mandate for door impact bars) but newer doors may work too... I haven't been to the yard to check.
A few years back I wanted to get into HAM. I bought some great equipment, never got my license and never hooked it up. It sits at my desk untouched, never plugged in. Where would be a good place to go to sell it? It is exactly like new, living under a micro fiber towel. I live in the country and could never get anyone to help me.
ICOM: IC-756PROIII
ICOM SP-23 external speaker
Ashton-RS35M
and more.

Sounds like a nice setup.
Too bad you didn't try talking on the rig, there are a lot of good people (some not so good), to talk to.
There is a difference talking to HAMs and on the CB...but still good times.
What is the saying," Talk To The World", I have made a few contact and it is interesting to hear what other HAMs have to say.
Anyway..., if you haven't sold it already two things:
Installed some $26 ebay pre cut window tint. It went much easier than i expected, considering I've never attempted putting it on before. Only problem i ran into was the pieces for the door glass was way too big & had to be cut down, & the damn door panel on the end where the mirror is covers up the glass making it hard to get to. The instructions were fair, but their recommendation using water with a small amount of Johnson's baby shampoo mixed in made it really easy to slide the tint around & get it where you want it. Its not perfect, but i did it myself & saved well over $100, so I'm happy.
OEM switch is about $120.00, Standard\Echlin around $80.00. I had same issue went with an OEM Ford. Problem solved. I did open and clean the old one for a spare.
I replaced mine yesterday, got a new one off ebay for $20. For that price i figured what the hell, ill try it...
Scrambler 82.........I live in rural Georgia. There are no local stores. I have not contacted any online dealers, and I don't have any idea what it is worth. Sadly, I don't know where the boxes are. Putting it simply, I haven't given any thought to selling it until I saw this post.
I have a '99 4X4 Offroad, and when I bought it, someone had gutted the stereo, left a bunch of extra wiring harnesses in the hole, and broke the bezel. I ordered a bezel that is supposed to be here Monday. Right now, my aftermarket stereo is "scotched in" with thick weatherstripping.
Got my transmission completely rebuilt in November 2018, rallied the **** out of it and had to get it replaced in March 2019. Drove like an angel and then in June 2019 and a 4 hour drive to sun river and my O/D light started flashing so I had to get it changed AGAIN. Good thing it’s still under warranty because every morning I start it it slips in 1st every time. FML. Love my truck but oh my lord I hate the transmission place. Never go to Chavez Transmission.
Made a video about the blinker “mod” since when I went to do it I couldn’t find a whole lot other than pictures from older posts and models from other forums. If anyone’s interested here’s the attached link! Will also be doing other ranger things on the channel as well.

Looks good! I like the led fogs, was thinking about going led for headlights on mine, when the money allows it. What year is yours?
Thanks! I don’t mind them, was debating taking them off at one point until I realized they were factory and have holes behind them, but they grew on me over time!
Swapped out generic 3rd brake light for a salvage yard brake/cargo light combo. tapped into the dome light circuit without cutting any wires by using a connection on my salvage yard Explorer dome/map light..
