ok did some work and made some progress today! yeah the axle is rusty... who cares. lol

being its my birthday today, it was good to just get away in the shop and mess with the truck.

everything is very lightly tacked. once i get my knucles on and high steer together i will tack weld it enough to atleast hold it then test fit it on the truck.

its setup with 6* of caster. pinion angle is -10* i think you would call it negative not sure but its better than the pinion angle on my current setup.

first off here is the steering shaft that i did last night and fixed up.

completely un SAS related but I was messing with the welder and some scrap steel made a new flag mount for the dunes and anywhere else i need flag

happy birthday Zach! tickering on the truck is a good way to spend some of your day

i'm stuck at work right now.. all day. i have various projects in my head but all i can do is think and re-think how i'm gonna approach 'em, what order i should do things in, etc.; rather frustrating

my steering are those tubes laying on the ground... 1.5" with .25 wall.

panhard you see above the axle is just something i had laying around i think its 1.5" with .120 wall. i will probably use it just because i have it. not like it wont be strong enough anyway.

thanks for the happy birthdays guys

Most rigs I've seen with coils I think shoot for straight up and down. Coilovers I've seen tilted but that's a whole different can o' worms.

Now as for why, I couldn't answer that part.

lol kinda... right now i have it setup so the top of the spring aims back at a slant so on the drivers side it would slant like this / but I am thinking they should be straight up and down... have to fix that this weekend...

I might be using too much common sense, but wouldn't it make sense to just put them straight up and down? Why would you slant them at all?

Would it make a difference if they were up or down or slanted? Like flex wise and strength wise. I'm trying to expand my suspension knowledge lol
