Hey billy, the numbers for the keys are the ride height forum:

08/04/2003- part number is F5775B328B
- my price in CND is $84.00 ea.

06/04/2007- part number is 8L575B328A
- my price in CND is $36.00 ea.

in my opinion , phone the wreckers and recyclers in your area, there much cheaper then from the dealer. i did the #1 bar and key install at the same time, deffinatly worth the extra money, and you have them all apart already.

there a Ford dealership item only, or like i said above....wreckers.

awesome detective work gentlemen. A write up on the keys would be great. I dont think it would be that hard, but im used to 40 year old Ford front ends and not these fancy new cars ya know?

i got some keys located so ill be doing this soon too :D

Hey Dallis...do you have the proper tool to do the job? Torsion bar unloading tool? If so, send it my way and i'll do the how-to when I do Marie's truck. Well....teach her to do it while I do a how-to. lol.

Unless I can find it locally to rent for buy for cheap. I still dont like using my huge c-clamp. can be kinda scary.

Glad you guys like the PreKey name lol. Since Dallis found the solution, I named it in his honor :) Now if I can find a slightly used 09 Sport S/C it will be the 1st mod.

Just a few degrees of clocking of the bar in the key is a BIG difference....1.75-2" of difference.

lower ride height

Ok sorry about the long wait. I just got dont getting everything together. I did it in photoshop on my camera phone so please excuse the pictures.....my camera is dead.

I wont type much but if you have any questions at the end please feel free to PM with them.

lets get started

These are ALL the tools I used:

Name: Tools.jpg
Views: 527
Size: 95.1 KB

Take the weight off the front end:

Name: crappyjackspot.jpg
Views: 476
Size: 89.6 KB

Take the Cover plate off to excess the key and bars:

Name: IMG00040.jpg
Views: 525
Size: 57.2 KB

Now what i did was use a bottle jack to hold tenson on the bars. First i removed my adjustor bolt all the way, then put the jack in there and raised it up till i could get my adjustor bolt plate out of the crossmember. Then take the old key and bar out. Reverse the steps to reinstall them.

Size: 46.2 KB

Name: jackinplace3.jpg
Views: 535
Size: 84.3 KB

might have a bit of a time getting the plate back in place....or atleast i did

Name: jackinplace4.jpg

Size: 62.9 KB

And then just repeat on other side.

I must say it wasnt that hard, basic tools in my driveway. And yes i did do it by myself, but having another person there wouldnt be a bad idea.

OH and i and my next trick?....Just fell in my truck one day.....uh

Im curious, If I just want the stock height of a pre 08, and I swap in these keys, can I put the bolts back in at the same height they were before and thats it?

Yea you sure can. I had that at first but then I installed the shackle and had to crank them to get the right ride height I wanted

Well, I plan to either do shackle or block in the back, and was going to do the pre08 keys, and mark the bolts and put them back in at the same spot they were before if thats what would get it to pre08 height all around. I read on a couple other sites on changing the keys, and its pretty much how you said, only using the actual unload tool though. I may just get the tool for it. Im pretty mechanical so this seems straight foward. The good thing about this mod is, it will look oem and have oem parts (if using the block in the back) so if your in for warrenty work the dealers probably won't even notice it. I was asking the dealers about the ride height change in 08, and they just seemd dumbfounded.
