Not to go off topic, but my six leaker has been more reliable than your Ranger.

Not yet. But I finally had some time to work on it and got most of the stuff cut off. Hopefully I can get the axle in place for some measuring this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing more progress. Don't know if its been asked yet but when are you hoping to drive it again?

They didn’t have a Knucklehead in 1988, oh ya we aren’t talking Harley’s.

seed60,
When the Steering Rack is off, how low does the cross member hang below the engine. On the older Rangers the cross member was so low you almost always got into trouble with a D44 slamming home when flexing; so was just wondering.

I'm still collecting parts. But I hope to have it atleast on all fours in a few months.

Scrambler, there isn't a crossmember like on the older trucks.

Got everything else cut off. So I just had to set big nasty up underneath there. But I still have a ton of grinding to do.

speed60,
thks on that, I remember on my ’88 I didn’t do the SAS because of the cross member, I thought of all kinds of ways to mod it but never did anything because of the extra work.

No cross member takes that problem out of the equation; chk that off the list.

I want to run a 38"-40" tire depending on height.

As of right now plans are to use leafsprings, Rancho 44044s, and maybe spring sliders in the back to keep from having to use such a big shackle.

Got a set of these on the way. Should work great with the 44044 leafsprings.
