Looking great. What did you go with for the shaft support? IMO it looks like a mini version of beards with the silver and Sonic paint

Haven't made the shaft support yet. I have some leftover tubing from the steering that I'm going to try and use to support that heim.

Actually got it from Nick while he was putting the engine in Beard's truck. He was going to cut it up so we traded. I did get the tailgate from Sonic though.

Almost wished I would've stayed blue when I look at old pics.

FR1716DD which is the u joint that i used for the cab side. It just sliped on without modifying it. It is a 3/4 x 3/4 DD

FR1781 is the u-joint that i used on the steering box side. It is 1"DD x 11/16"- 36 spline.

The telescopic shaft is 24" and the # 450024. One side is 3/4 DD and the other side is 1" DD. U do have to trim the shaft a little , think i only cut a cople in. off.

FR1810 is the support bearing that i used to support the shaft.
Courtesy of Ford78. Thanks.

Bodylift has to stay for now. I'd have to change steering, radiator, sliders, and bumper to change it.

Still need to do the brakes and driveshaft to get it rolling. Going to use the one out of my old explorer and extend it with .25 tubing.

Anybody want to buy the stock one?

Is it the stock shaft or will it work for a lifted truck?

The stock aluminum shaft but it will still work on lifted trucks.

Thanks. Slider travel seems just right. Plenty of room left at full compression and droop.

Finally had a day to do the brakes and driveshaft is in the works. Gonna have it towed to the shop to turn the rotors and bam.

Lies!! That piece is still sitting in your driveway.

Right now I still have the stock master cylinder. I was going to see how it did before I swap in a f250/350 master cylinder.

Hey did you plug the VSS off the axle? If so unplug it! You dont need that on an 03. Its off the transmission.

Thanks.

Yes, I plugged it into the sterling just like it was on the 8.8. I started it the other day to bleed the steering and no jumpy speedo so I don't know. If it's off the trans then what is that plug on the axle?

Its only there for ABS purposes, which you dont have any more. It may do something with the speedo to but its not needed. I never used it on my ranger. I cut it off at the frame.

I know for a fact that the VSS is on the tailhousing of the transmission on an 03.

Btw where did you get those ujoints for the steering shaft?

My speedo has done that before. After letting it sit for a long time the battery died, after jumping it off the speedo was acting all crazy just like that. Once I let the truck run for a little while everything cleared up.

Not sure exactly what caused it though. It's had a dead battery plenty of times before and never did that lol.
