just saw today that both cv boots at the axle housing are ripped all the way open. so that sucks. I doubt that it was something he did though being both are, I'm guessing it was severe cold and driving it. must be crappy rubber, cause I've never even ripped open a stock boot and I beat the **** out of mine.

andy, i got a question. when you mount the DBR kit with those massive shackles, do you need to either run a bed cage or a cantilever kit or can you just install a BL? could you install a 1" and still keep the bed or would there not be enough clearance? i forget if you have a 3" BL or not.

im on DR right now and PM'd BTF (not blue torch) but idk where to start on that site and dont wanna feel like a newb.

My rear kit is the Giant 64. I do believe that you need to cut some holes for the shackles to poke through a bit in the bed. Bodylift would help, the one inch would maybe be just enough to clear them.

Im still up north fishn, so no progress yet. I did however manage to get some sweet sunburn, sun all day on a frozen lake is brutal. Was like 50 and I was shirtless icefishing lol

could i run these http://www.blitzkriegstore.com/Sprin...hackles_c8.htm instead of a BL? im just not a fan of them. i mean if it came down to that was the only way. yea i would but if i can get away with strictly suspension travel. great.

do you know off hand the difference between the f31's, the g50's and the giant 64's? from what briefly read, the 50s are harder then the 31s? the 64's give more clearance then either of the previously mentioned?

shirtless icefishing? is that how you guys roll up there? rob said the other day it was like 55-60 at his place. i guess i got screwed by the "lake effect" :(

The 64's are the best by far for the money. they are also made by deaver but are only sold through Giant. The 64's just have more arch/preload to help them perform more like links. G50's are just "harder" because they are meant for a full race truck with extra weight on them, tires, jacks, tools, spare parts, fuel cell etc. f-31's with some shackles would be perfect for something you wanted to do. and I would think if those are drop hangers that they will equal out with the hangers to sit about stock height. if you can maybe get a measurement of how far you shackle sits above the frame or if at all and I can see how far mine stick up after the drop hangers

Matt, I have the F31's on my truck. I believe that if they are shackle up the ride height is stock.

Yup. when mine were new they were stiff as hell and they were even with my RCD with stock shackles and no blocks. Now they've settled a bunch and ride great, they flex very well too.

well little update on the truck..no pics yet though sorry. I have it stands with the front end all off besides the motor, hopefully get that out asap when I can get a engine hoist and a stand. Plan is right now to just strip it down and clean it back up, frame-up. I'm thinking of maybe cutting my seat/harness cage off the frame and removing the whole cab so I can get at the frame and plate it in and run some new crossmembers etc. Still up in the air about motor plans. I plan to gut all the wiring and plating off the heater box etc and getting the engine bay perfectly clean and starting over from there. I may even go carbed 351 so I have almost no wiring which will be awesome with having to stuff tire into the bay and all. same with brakes, I'm planning on going non ABS so I dont need the stupid huge 4x4 ABS box in the bay either. just lines off the master and down to all the wheels. Going fuel cell etc, basically I want this built to be simple and sweet. Awesome to drive, and awesome to work on.
