Thats good news. That should be plenty of parts to keep you busy. I sure hope you have it all together by the dunes!

Got the 1/8" plate cut and welded in for the front hangars. you need to add it because it extends past the frame double up and the upper hole lands right in the crack of it.

Except it's turning into a craptastic rainy day here in the Cities... sure that's not helping the progress.

Yeah. Discount is goofy. I found on their website a piece of Aluminum Angle I needed that was like $22 for a 20' piece.

So I cruise over there, and I was informed they don't sell 20' pieces of this Aluminum, only 16' foot and that it was $29 per piece. WTF? Less material and more expensive then your website? Should have ordered it online and just see how they try to get out of it.

with the rain today and little setbacks here and there I got it all on but installing the perches and leafs. The rear brackets didnt even line up to any of the holes so I moved it an inch or so back and weled up the old holes and drilled new ones. chris had mentioned it would be a good idea to move it back some to put a little more angle in the shackle anyways. other than that it ll went pretty good over about a 4hour time period. I'm gettn up early to finish it up and get the axle all ready to go. Also take the pack apart and get my full bump and droop lines on some plywood attached to my frame with the shocks callapsed and extended. So i can get my optimal top shock mount location.

just got in from sweatn my *** off all morning and havnt accomplished much of anything. I would have been done by noon probably if the damn thing just dropped in like its suppose too. The problem I have been trying to overcome is that my rear end cant go forward enough to set on the perches in the correct spot dead center over the leaf pack bolts. It wants to sit about 1-1/2" or so back from that. i muscled the thing into the correct place at one point and got the u-bolts on so it couls pop of the leaf bolts and slide back. But the driveshaft/pinion was binding and not wanting to move freely with flex. so now I'm trying to decide wtf I can do to make it work. I could weld up the center holes in the perches and then drill new ones forward an inch or so. But then I'd also have to drill a new hole for the bottom of the bolt in the spring plate. its been a pretty stressful long *** day so far, especially knowing I would have been done hours ago if it had just dropped onto the perches fine.

at first i was like oh crap, that right I have a different t-case so its probaly a bit longer. But that would matter because my old axle sat in the correct spot cause I had new driveshafts made. its either mod the perches..or move the front hangars back drill new holes etc..but that would suck

ok working on it now. getting the axle bolted up in the correct spot and tacking the perches in. removing the driveshaft and getting my measurements full droop and bump. I'm guessing i'm going to have to shorten my driveshaft about 1-1/2" - 2". Dropping it off at a shop in the morning before work and picking it up on the way home.

I'm n *** and i spent a little too much time drinkn with buddies at a local taco place and then they con'd me in to coming over to one of their houses to drink some more and bull****. so0ooo I didnt get my damn measurements lol, but thats ok cause I need to go get my steel tomorrow(tube, plate) for my bedcage, bumpers etc. So I'll get them tomorrow and have the shaft back thursday when I get home. I'd offer to come up and give you a hand this weekend, but I'm going to be fixing my girlfriends 73 Super Beetle again this weekend out in WI. Gotta get the brakes working and the stereo wired up.

Actually if you need a hand on Monday, I might be able to swing up and help out.
